At what age can you use a baby carrier?
You can typically start using a Sling style carrier from baby's first week (but always follow the minimum weight recommended by the manufacturer). In some cases, a Front Style carrier may also be used if your newborn meets the manufacturer's minimum weight recommendation. If you are using a Front Style carrier for a newborn it must have an infant head support. You can not use a backpack style carrier until your baby is able to sit up unassisted.
How long a time can I carry my baby in a baby carrier?
You can carry your baby for as long as he/she is happy and content. When your baby is too small to hold his head up by himself, it is not a good idea to carry him for long periods of time. Even baby needs a change of positions.
When can my baby start facing forward in a Front Style baby carrier?
If the model allows you to carry the baby facing forward, you can do so once the baby's neck is strong enough. Until then, keep baby facing towards you. Always follow the manufacturer's recommended usage guidelines.
