I have limited space in my nursery, what pieces should I prioritize?

A crib/mattress obviously comes first. Then you will want a piece of furniture for diaper and clothes changing (e.g. changing table, chest, and combo unit). The piece should have a flat surface and be at a comfortable height for you. A hutch can be a great option and add storage space since the lower shelf is removable as a changing area. If closet space is limited, add a 5-drawer dresser or armoire. Finally, most moms will find having a glider a must. This will give you a comfortable chair for nursing and for telling bedtime stories.

Does the furniture come fully assembled?

Most do come fully assembled; however there are a few exceptions. Those exceptions come with instructions to do it yourself, but since this is for your child, you might want to consider hiring a professional.

When should I order my furniture?

It is never too early to order nursery furniture. Ordering early will give you one less thing to think about as your baby's birth approaches.
