What is the difference between a 4 and 6 piece crib bedding set?

A 4 piece set includes a quilt, fitted sheet, bumper, and a dust ruffle. A 6 piece set includes all the pieces of a 4 piece set plus a diaper stacker and window valance. Check the set's packaging to determine the items included in that set.

Is crib bedding sold only as sets or are they sold separately?

Although a bedding set is your best option for continuing a theme throughout the nursery, separates are available for most pieces.

How do I know what size fitted sheet to buy for my baby's crib?

A fitted crib sheet will fit on a standard mattress. If you're not sure if your crib mattress is the "standard size", measure the thickness, length and width of the mattress before you go shopping. A standard crib size mattress is 51 5/8-inches long by 27 1/4-inches wide by 5 1/2-inches thick. You can also purchase standard cradle, bassinet or port-a-crib sheets, which will be designated as such on the packaging.

Why are some bedding sets so much more expensive than others?

Pricing is directly related to the detailing, type of fabric used and who the manufacturer is.

For safety reasons, what items should be used in the crib while my baby is in it?

The only bedding items that should be used in the crib while the baby is inside it are the fitted sheet and bumper; anything else can increase the risk of SIDS.

What is SIDS?

SIDS stands for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. SIDS is the unexplained death of an infant under one year of age while sleeping. To reduce the risk of SIDS, babies should be laid to sleep on their backs in a crib without blankets, pillows or toys.
