Regularly check all crib hardware to make sure they are tight and secure. If replacement pieces or hardware is needed, they should be purchased through the manufacturer. And always follow the manufacturer's height, weight, and usage guidelines.
A crib mattress should be firm and snug and no more than 2 adult fingers should fit between the mattress and the crib. Crib slats can not be more than 2 3/8 inches apart to avoid strangulation hazard.
Cribs shouldn't be placed under a window and never under a window with blinds or curtain cords to avoid strangulation.
And don't forget to complete the registration card, so you can receive any information regarding safety recalls.
