Vacuums
vacuums
use and care
  return to product product guide

Vacuums collect dirt in two different ways. Depending on your personal preference of care and clean-up, your choice may rely heavily on this feature.

BAG: Here, dirt and debris are collected in a bag. Once this bag gets full, you must replace it with a new, clean bag. Of course this means that you must purchase bags in the future, but the quick switch is effortless and the bag feature ensures that the dirt will not spill when it is removed. The most important procedure for the upright and canister vacuum is to replace the vacuum bags before they become so full that it dulls the performance of your vacuum. Certain models switch off when the bag is full, ensuring that you do not ruin the vacuum while also forcing you to replace the bag.

BAG-LESS: With bag-less vacuums, dirt is collected in a cup. The user periodically empties the cup into the trash and snaps it back in place, rather than replacing a bag each time the compartment is full. Without bags to worry about, you spend less money and reduce waste by simply emptying the removable collection cup. Still, there is no guarantee of a clean removal of the cup and some dirt or dust may accidentally escape.

VARIOUS SETTINGS: The best way to effectively use your vacuum is to operate it on the correct setting. Most models have various floor settings, from cleaning deep pile or shag carpet, to hardwood floors. Make sure you adjust your settings accordingly for the best results.
