Pressure cookers are great for roasts, casseroles, soups, rice, pasta, and even desserts. Introducing the Breville Fast Slower Cooker. Not only does it save time or energy but it retains more nutrients and it enhances natural flavors. Always thaw frozen meat and poultry before cooking The pressure cooking allows for cheaper and tougher cuts of meats to be cooked quickly and to achieve a tender juicy result. The fast slow cooker is ideal for one pot cooking. It has the ability to seal the meet first to seal in the flavor.
Press the function button until the sauté sear flashes then set the time to 15 minutes. Add a small amount of oil, garlic, onion and sort of wait for 3 minutes. Use the included heat resistant spatula instead of a metal one. That will scratch the nonstick bottom of the bowl. Now add all other ingredients. If adding things like fresh vegetables cut the meat in uniform sized pieces then close the lid in a clockwise direction and align the errors. Then make sure that the pressure regulator release valve is turned to the pressure position. Select between low which is great for see food, Medium which is ideal for whole chicken or High for red meats. The function indicator will illuminate red and pre heating will begin. When the selected pressure is achieved you’ll hear slight hiss. And when the food is done you’ll hear 5 beeps.
As a safety precaution there is a button next to the valve to release the initial burst of steam. Hold the button down to release the rest of the steam or rotate the valve. And, wait a minute before removing the lid. If you have some more time and want to spend some time flavor layering then there is a slow cook option. To do this place a minimum of ¼ liquid in your food, close and lock the lid in a clockwise direction. Press the function until the Slow cook indicator flashes. Then press timer to select from 6 to 8 hours. When it’s complete the unit will automatically go into the keep warm setting for 30 minutes. To stem add ¼ of hot water to stroke and place a sustainable stew basket in. Close the lid, select the Stem function and select the low, medium or high pressure. Wash the bowl by hand in warm soapy water to maintain the non-stick coating. Clean the lid, gently pull out the silicone rubber gasket.
