While the hand-knotted carpets are among the cognoscenti' & accumulators' choice, the Hand-Tufted carpets have been the most used rugs around the world since the 80's - because of quicker making, hence low price ranges, with an expected lastingness of 10-12 years among heavy traffic. To produce a hand-tufted rug, skilled weavers use a hand-tufting gun to crate a weave on the top sheet, with a inflexible looped pile which can be left as is or cut. The height of the pile is determined by initial setting of the loop-length, or, on how much yarn is cut off.
