Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Our customers shared their favorite gifts!
It’s almost Mother’s Day, and that means it’s time to come up with a gift. This holiday, more so than any other, calls for thoughtful selection—after all, it’s the mother figure in your life we’re talking about. How can you possibly express your love in gift form? We turned to our customers on our Facebook page for some inspo. Overwhelmingly, moms told us that the greatest gift of all is their children (and, in many cases, their grandchildren!). Time spent with them, phone calls, and simply reminding Mom you love her is often gift enough. But for something more tangible, here are some ideas our customers gave us for a great Mother’s Day treat.
Breakfast in Bed
Breakfast is the best way to start the day, and your bed is the best place to be in the house. So breakfast in bed is pretty much a no-brainer. Even if you’re not the greatest cook, it’ll be appreciated. As they say, it’s the thought that counts!
“Every Mother’s Day morning I would get breakfast in bed, with a foot massage and receive a little homemade present . . . I love all my children and cherish every minute I have with them.” —Maria Vincent
“Runny eggs, hard bacon, cold coffee, and burnt toast, and yes, I ate every single bite of it. The meal was made by the loving hands of my two sons.” —Dawn Galletta
“They were all little, and they wanted to make me breakfast in bed. I have three kids—I got six pieces of toast with butter and cards that they made me. I had to share the toast!” —Debra ODowd
“Breakfast in bed and a spa day in the afternoon.” —Ju Lee
Family Photos
Family photos make people happy (and there’s no such thing as having too many either), and a nice frame always makes a great gift.
“A seating with a photographer for a long overdue family group shot!” —Nancy SiKora
“My five kids used their Dad's camera to take pictures of themselves and bought a really nice frame. Let's say we shared a lot of hugs and love.” —Stephanie Marie Lozano
Handwritten Notes
Even if you tell your Mom you love her all the time, chances are she can’t hear it enough. Create a box full of notes with things you love about her, along with funny memories and your favorite quotes. She’ll be able to read them and smile year-round.
“The best gift I got was a simple box with little notes from my son. The box keeps all the notes from the entire year.” —Jacqueline Odum Foultz
Favorite Foods
We’re never going to say it’s a bad idea to give the gift of food, particularly if that food is homemade. Whether it’s her favorite dessert, or something she doesn’t get to have very often, sharing a meal is one of the best things you can do together.
“A homemade cake they made from scratch when they were young (with Dad supervising!).” —Mema Catherine
“Fish tacos. No, really. No one in the family likes fish, but they asked me what I wanted to eat for Mother’s Day, and I said fish tacos. Guess what they made me? Fish tacos!” —Chrys Maher
New Toys
For techie moms, fit moms, moms who love to travel, and every mom in between, shiny new toys are always fun to open.
“A new bike. I loved putting them in the carrier and taking them for a ride.” —Denise Toth
A Garden: The Gift that Keeps on Giving
A garden is a great thing to have. Whether she’s using it for vegetables and herbs or for flowers, gardening tools and planters are a pretty unbeatable gift for the mom with a green thumb. Best of all, it blooms every year!
“They planted my garden and it still blooms every year, reminding me of their love.” —Patricia Dawson Lebda
