Founded in 1952, Illinois-based Plano Molding Company is known for the design and manufacture of plastic tackle boxes, stowaways, gun cases and other plastic molded products; the company markets goods to different audiences under several brand names. When People magazine ran a photograph in 1986 depicting Vanna White using a Plano Molding Company plastic tackle box to house her makeup, the concept of storage and organization took on a new dimension; in 1987 the company founded the category of cosmetics organization with the launch of the Caboodles line of cosmetics cases. Today the product line has expanded to include train cases, specialty cases, vanity organizers and more; function, fashion, quality and affordability are hallmarks of the brand. The product line includes locking train cases with cantilevered trays to house essentials; train cases with auto-open trays designed to offer easy access to beauty items; bag sets; cosmetic organizers; acrylic storage trays and more.
