Massachusetts-based Hebert? began in 1917 when Frederick Hebert started making handcrafted chocolates and caramels in his own kitchen to sell through small neighborhood stores in central Massachusetts. By 1946 demand was such that he was able to buy a Tudor-style mansion on a busy road; this building became the first roadside retail confectionary operation in the United States. Hebert went on to introduce white chocolate, something he discovered in Europe while in pursuit of the finest ingredients available, to the United States in 1956; throughout the second half of the century the company opened a dozen candy mansions in New England, securing the Hebert name as a regional favorite. The range of handcrafted confections includes a mouthwatering array of chocolates, caramels and candies in attractive gift and presentation boxes. Enjoy chocolate bars, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered almonds, milk and dark chocolate caramels and more.
