Wash in hot water really bad smell out of package

This duvet is actually beautiful sateen and nice quality but make sure and wash in hot water several times before using. When you take out of package it has a horrible smell, like feces! I decided to at least wash it several times to see if the smell would go away because I really liked the fabric and quality. Fortunately, the smell came out and I am very happy. I would have given this duvet a 5 star, in exception to the bad smell when it is taken out of the packaging. Bed Bath, ask your vendor why it smells so bad, maybe the processing of the fabric??

Positive: I like the look and feel of the fabric and the covered button placket on the cover is nice. Negative: It smelled terrible when it arrived. I washed / dried it as directed and got the smell out, but it wrinkled horribly, so I had to iron everything. I'm using the cover in a guest bedroom so I won't have to wash it often. Otherwise, I would return it. Also, the pillow shams are really small and are too tight on my standard sized pillows so I can't use them.

I loved the tan color of this product but the fabric was SUPER thin. Our pup's nails managed to put a huge snag in it the first week we had it on our bed. This might be best for a guest bed where no animals are allowed.

Bought on sale and with coupon. A good bargain at this price. I have washed it a few times, still looks nice. Inside tab ties fell off at first washing but will be easy to fix as they are sturdy cotton twill ties.

I was excited to put this on the bed until I saw the first mark, I realized this was on the back so I figured no big deal, flipped over and...big faded square right on the top of the bed...other than that I like the color and feel, but could do without the patches.
