I recently moved into a new house and needed a temporary rod (no drilling required!) for curtains before I decide on permanent window treatments. This rod is great value for money and is quick and easy to set up. I found that if I set the rod at about 1/2" longer than the width of the window then pushed in against the spring then the fit was snug and the rod was secure.
This tension rod is just alright. I was happy with the price but in the future will probably not buy again. Even tho it is supposed to stretch to 84", we have it out to 77" and have issues with it. It bows down in the center and overall feels a bit flimsy. When I opened it when we got home I realized the pole had also been slightly bent so we had to bend it back. Also, when I went to try and readjust the center sag once the pole was up, I realized the 'tension' part of the rod was broken as there was no actual tension holding it I and I had to adjust the spring to get it to work again and at this point figured whatever, I'll keep the sag until I find a better buy or it breaks. If you're not using it for its full potential of 70"+, I would say it's probably fine, anything further just know it might not work as well as you're hoping.

Loved these curtain rods. Moved into a rental town house. Didn’t want to punch holes to hang drapes. These rods did the job.
It barely holds up two curtains falls down at least once a week, and the only reason it stays up long for me at least is I have command hooks along the rode helping hold it up. Cheap and insanely flimsy, not worth it spend a little extra and get one that actually hold up your stuff
I just used it for less than a week. The rubber on the top was broken and it scratched the wall. Highly don't recommend.
Maybe it's me, or maybe my curtains are too heavy, but I can't get these to work and am going to return them. It's the "spring" part that's difficult. You need to tighten the spring's placement with a screw after the rod is up, which seems to work until you try to put a curtain on it. Never again.
These are very sturdy and stay in place. I see no chance of budging.
Was hoping it was a bit thicker and more sturdy but will do for the time being. Don’t put anything heavy on it.

Great tension and effectively holds up heavy loads while hidden in the background
We have pull down semi-translucent privacy shades in our bedroom that mount inside window frame. There was just enough space to add these spring rods due to their oval shaped end. It allowed us not to damage our walls while we still decide on more formal window treatments in our newly renovated master bedroom.. Spring mechanism worked great and adjustment was tight fitting and sheers look just right to finish the temporary window fashion.
