We have a glass top stove and always seemed to have a problem with frying pans warping and not sitting flat on the surface. After years of replacing frying pans about twice a year we finally decided to spend more on an all clad set of 8 & 10" skillets sold as a set in store. We loved them immediately and could tell they were a quality product and worth the money. Loved them so much we ordered the 12" with lid. These are great and no wobbling on the stovetop.
I bought this hard anodized non-stick pan to use in conjunction with a Cuisinart 12" stainless steel skillet (with copper clad bottom). The All-clad is advertised as "great for cooking at high heat with oil.." Unfortunately, it is not "great for cooking....with oil" and cannot compare in quality with the Cuisinart or, for that matter, a cheap Food Network skillet that the All-clad replaced. Why? On first use I noticed that butter or oil added to the pan prior to the food to be sauteed failed to sit in the middle of the pan. Instead butter/oil flowed to the edges (where the side curves up) of the pan bottom. Even when swirled completely over the pan's bottom, the liquid gravitated to the bottom's edge. The result: food added to be sauteed was dry and nearly burned if placed in the middle of the pan and over-oiled if placed near the edge of the pan's bottom. Visual examination showed that the pan's bottom is not flat. With the use of a carpenter's level, I determined that the pan's bottom is not flat - it has a nearly undetectable upward bulge going from the bottom's edge to the bottom's center. That's what caused the frying liquid to flow to the edge of the pan. I took pictures of that, what I call, defect and returned the skillet to All-clad. All-clad Support's response was less than efficient but they kindly sent me a replacement that exhibits the same defect. This skillet is exceptional in appearance and heft but it has an obvious design defect that completely compromises its performance. All-clad must surely be aware of that - if for no other reason than my letter of complaint and its accompanying documenting photos. If this comments section had ratings from 0 - 5 instead of 1 - 5 stars, I would have rated this product's quality 0.

All my pots and pans are All-Clad so this was a no brainer. I had some Bed Bath and Beyond monetary rewards and the skillet was on sale so I got a really great deal on a really nice piece of cookware.
I purchased this pan 2 years ago and it worked great at first, but then the Teflon started coming off from normal, everyday use. BB&B will not honor the warranty and All-Clad tells me that their lifetime warranty doesn't cover wear - which anything during a lifetime will have. Save your money and just buy a new cheap one every couple years.

This is the best pan ever….replaced my cephalon pan with this….much better with even heat distribution and a dream to clean.
Love cooking in this pan, truly non-stick and works real well! A bit heavy, but worth it!

After growing tired of lower priced "nonstick" skillets (Teflon, ceramic, etc) I switched to hard anodized aluminum. All-Clad is a well known brand and this B1 series is superior (in my opinion) to the HA series commonly found. The pan is a bit on the heavy side and having a helper handle is nice. Some of the reviews that are critical of the surface may not realize that a GOOD pan with GOOD conductivity does not (and should not) be used on the stove at high setting. Most of the time I set the dial to 3 or 4. There is no need to crank it up higher unless you want to ruin your skillet. In addition to hard anodized skillets I also have stainless steel, cast iron and carbon steel. I use the same temperature settings for each of these pans and never have a problem. Some of the pans claim to be dishwasher safe but mine have never seen the inside of a dishwasher. Good cookware is like good kitchen knives. Never, ever put them in a dishwasher. ALWAYS wash by hand and immediately towel dry.
Purchased over 2 years ago. Used to make a daily omelette. Non-stick coating started wearing off about 6 months ago. Getting hard to ignore so bought the same pan again. Should it have lasted longer? You need to decide. Longevity is the reason for the 4 (not 5) stars.
I had this pan for about a year now. The pan was pricey. For the quality of All Clad, I was hoping that it would last longer than other nonstick pans that I used to own. The coating has deteriorated and my food are sticking when I am cooking in it. Also it’s very heavy, approximately 5+ pounds.
