I've owned this set for about 6 months now, and they still look like new. Even my 24 year old son hasn't been able to damage them yet, and he's very rough on cookware. Unlike previous cookware, this time I decided I was not going to wash them in the dishwasher. I also stopped using any cooking spray - instead I followed advice to just wipe the surface with a light coating of cooking oil before use. Since I have to store them stacked in my cupboard, I use sheets of some sort of packing material in between the pots to prevent scratching. The surface is so easy to clean - food just wipes off of them. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I bought this set along with an 8 piece plastic (nylon) utensils. Even though this set says safe with metal utensils I still wanted to be careful. I cooked 9 times in this set and after just a week and a half noticed one of the pots I had cooked mac and cheese in and stirred the cheese with the nylon utensils was showing signs of surface scratching. I was so mad after paying the extra in hopes this would not happen. I packed it back in the box and returned it. I bought the 13 piece try-ply stainless steel set and am hoping I will be happier with this set. We shall see. I would not suggest anyone buy the Avalon set.

I like almost everything about this pan, except for the rivets. I will never buy another pan with this type of rivets. They gather food beneath their perimeters that is almost impossible to remove, hence the tooth-pick title. Handle's great; cooking surface is great. It's just those stinking rivets...
