I recently noticed that reviews can be and are very helpful. It was reviews from others about this product which led me to try it. I am A Proud Black American and my hair is thick, coarse and natural (no perms or other straightening chemicals), but it is colored and I touch it up periodically with One n' Only Colors, which by the way I Also Recommend. Also, my waves are more loose than tight, if that information helps. About this product, I have recently been trying to make sure that I use the best recommended hair products and styling tools for my hair type to prevent, or at least greatly minimize heat damage, additional dryness and breakage, and this iron was highly recommended from my research. Through my research it was stated that Titanium Irons are the best ones out of the ceramic and tourmaline. Prior to purchasing this flatiron, I was using an Original Chi which I've had for about 10 years, which still works great, and a new Ultra Chi, which I truly DO NOT RECOMMEND. Of the 3 THIS IS THE BEST. IT ONLY REQUIRES ONE SLOW PASS THROUGH MY HAIR TO GET IT STRAIGHT AND LOOKING AND FEELING SILKY (my hair looks like I had a perm after I straighten it with this flatiron). Also, these results are after ONLY air drying my hair under my hooded dryer and WITHOUT BLOW DRYING it AT ALL. The ONLY thing because of it's straight edges, I am not able to curl my hair with it, like I am able to do with my Original Chi, which is what I use to curl it after straightening my hair with this iron. 3 MORE PLUSES: -THIS IRON CONTROLS AND PREVENTS MY HAIR FROM FRIZZING AND PUFFING UP DUE TO HUMIDITY AND DAMPNESS. -MY HAIR STAYS STRAIGHT FOR “AT LEAST” 2 WEEKS. -WHEN I FIRST APPLY WATER TO MY HAIR IT ACTUALLY TAKES A WHILE BEFORE IT CURLS BACK UP.” About The Bonus Items -THE BLOW DRYER'S wattage took a long time to dry my hair when I tried it, but I believe the plus is less heat damage. -THE MINI FLATIRON has ONLY 2 settings (On or Off), and from my opinion, the On heat is low to medium, which DOES NOT WORK FOR MY HAIR. -THE COMB is not strong and sturdy, but it is a FREE BONUS. -THE BAG is nice, to keep everything in, and for traveling purposes. I hope this review helps you regarding if you'll purchase or pass on getting this iron, LPJ.
I was super excited to have purchased the Babyliss flatiron since I've had my CHI for nearly 15 years now, yes that long! LOL I hardly ever used it but just recently started using it again and very frequently might I add and that's when I realized just how old it is. Anyway, as soon as the Babyliss arrived, I used it and was thoroughly disappointed. I could immediately tell it was less than stellar. I put it on the same temperature as the CHI and yet after using the Babyliss, my 4C coily hair looked dull, lackluster and not very straight. The second issue I have with this iron is that I kept mistakenly hitting the "on/off" button with my finger since it's placed on the side of the flatiron instead of on top. My final complaint is that the Babyliss heats through the back of the plates so my fingers get burned quite often. Whereas my old CHI has a felt fabric/material on the back of the plates to protect and prevent exactly this from happening. I placed the Babyliss back into the box and took out my CHI to finish the rest of my hair. Even at 15+ years old, the CHI works better on my type of hair, it makes it shiny and super straight and I do NOT have to set the temperature very high. The only reason I even purchased a new flatiron is because the CHI's felt protection is falling off and it is very old so I didn't want to be placed into a situation where I needed my flatiron and it broke or stopped working for whatever reason, I mean did I mention how old it is? LOL At any rate, I will be returning the Babyliss and buying an updated version of the CHI. And for these reasons, I would not recommend this flatiron.

I ordered this product online and when I received it, it was obvious that it was used. My first thought was that they sent me out an item that has been refurbished. It had chip marks on it and it did not come with any clear packaging on it. If y’all are going to sent out a used item at least advertise it as that. I was pretty disappointed because I had gifted this to myself as a birthday gift. Do better! Overall the straightener is so good.

This flat iron feels cheaply made, it is too lightweight and does not flat iron well. I do not recommend, especially for long hair.

The best thing since sliced bread! I love this flat iron. It cost a pretty penny but it was worth every one of them. My hair is thin, kind of course and wavy. I usually have to do an unhealthy number of passes to get my hair straight with other flat irons but not with this one. One to two passes is all it takes and my hair is hair salon straight. I love the wide range of heat temperatures and the thin light weight design. The only drawback is that the on/off button is on the side and can get flipped off by accident. It’s not a major issue because it heats up so fast, you are back in action in no time. 10 out of 10 I definitely recommend!!!

After one use I’m in love. They are light weight and have various heat settings. Once I found the right setting I was able to easily straighten and curl my hair in no time!
