Bambu Serenity Cooling Mattress Pad

At the time of purchase, this product was advertised as being "Organic, Natural, Hypoallergenic" and "100% bamboo". This is inaccurate and misleading advertising on behalf of the manufacturer and BB&B. Here is a statement from the FTC's website: "...soft textiles you see labeled ‘bamboo’ don’t contain any part of the bamboo plant. They are made from bamboo that has been processed into rayon using toxic chemicals. When bamboo is processed into rayon, no trace of the original plant is left. Although a bamboo plant can resist the growth of bacteria, there is no evidence that rayon made from processed bamboo is also antibacterial. If a company claims its product is made with bamboo, it should have reliable scientific evidence to show it’s made with bamboo fiber." Bamboo Rayon or Viscose is often made with a toxic solvents such as carbon disulfide, which per the EPA is known to cause reproductive and nervous system damage to the employees involved in the manufacturing process as well as those exposed to it in the community, since only 50% of the solvent is released into the environment. I purchased these because they were made from natural materials. I wanted to buy organic, but all of the organic ones has polyester fill. These are soft, fit securely on the mattress and was well in a home washing machine.

Good quality. Plenty of room to tuck under. Just expensive
