Banana Boat® 6 oz. Hair & Scalp Defense Sunscreen Spray SPF 30+

Been using this spray for several years now. Having a buzz cut & a little more scalp showing than I prefer, this product leaves my head non greasy & gives my head the protection it needs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This spray leaves my hair soft, shiny, and manageable. Love the scent, it isn't too overwhelming or perfumey. Not greasy or oily and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. Nice packaging. Appealing. Price point is decent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter is very fair, with thin, blonde hair. She's outside a lot since we frequently swim in the pool and go to the beach. She has complained in previous summers about the part in her hair getting burned on the skin. I have more of an olive tone and dark brown hair, but also have this issue with my part. I used to use just regular lotion and swipe it down our parts, but it would also feel super greasy and look very white. This is a great idea. It still leaves a bit of greasiness, but no white. I'm not sure what makes this bottle/formula different from a regular spray sunscreen, but it has so far prevented any burning.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was expecting for hair and scalp sunscreen to be more like a dry shampoo or some other type of texture, but this is exactly like regular spray sunscreen as it comes out wet. If you are planning to keep your hairstyle and use this, it is not going to work. I think this sunscreen will be good for the beach, pool, hiking, or yard work where you are already going to have messed up hair. I have really fine hair and it did leave residue on my hair which made it look somewhat stringy. Overall, I think in most situations where I am worried about a scalp sunburn my hair looking nice is low on the list so this is a good idea. However I’m not totally convinced this is any different than regular spray sunscreen. What I do love is this is reef safe and water resistant for 80 minutes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Banana Boat hair and scalp spray is a new staple in my beach tote! For someone with very fine hair like me this product is a total must have. I love going to the beach and basking in the sun. I have all the products to get my skin protected but always realize like a week after that my scalp shed like how a sunburned skin sheds after like a week. Of course I can’t put sunscreen lotion on my hair so that’s just something I thought I had no control over. Then came this product. It’s perfect and it works great as it protects my scalp from getting sunburned. How did I not discover this sooner?? The best part about it is that it leaves no icky residue and the spray allows the product to be evenly distributed. Totally recommending this to all my fellow beach bums!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Banana Boat Hair & Scalp Spray is great for protecting your scalp from a sunburn! I've used this product quite a few times and I really love it. The packaging is nice and the sprayer works well. I love the scent, it makes my hair smell fantastic! It is lightweight and doesn't make my hair feel too greasy but maybe just a little which isn't bad. You will not get sunburned if you reapply every few hours like the instructions state. Love it!

I do wish that is was a higher SPF than 30. Banana Boat Hair & Scalp Defense Sunscreen Spray did work well as a sunscreen. I do like that you can use it on your hair and skin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this sunscreen because using regular sunscreen on my scalp was too greasy. This sunscreen was not greasy and still protected my scalp. Just like other sunscreen, I applied it every 2 hours and it was very effective in keeping my scalp from getting burnt.
