Pole doesn't screw in properly into base. Additional hooks screws don't align. Really wished it wasn't defective.
I'm not sure if they have upgraded the product since I read many reviews about how it is difficult to put together or the pieces don't work but for me this product arrived the same day I ordered it with same-day shipping and I put it together in less than 20 minutes. The only issue is there were four screws missing and the ones that I tried to fit into the top hooks by borrowing from the bottom wouldn't align. I can make them go in, but they don't tighten all the way. Will try to contact the seller to get my missing screws but just wanted to let others know that this coat stand can be put together (in my case I'm just missing the screws). They no longer sell the Ampersand coat rack which is the one I wanted to buy, however this one actually is more sturdy than the Ampersand one and does not wobble. The base screws on very tightly and they even include a plastic clip that can be inserted to prevent the middle pole (which is actually three pieces) from wobbling. The three pieces of the pole fit together very well and are flush so you can barely see where they do attach. Overall if I can get the final four screws to put on my hooks, I would give this coat rack 5/5 stars. Great as a gift, the only downside is that I would want to assemble it myself before gifting to ensure that it actually fits together and I don't gift someone something that is defective!

As every other review says this product is defective. There is a part that doesn’t correlate with instructions and the pole parts don’t screw in flush. How many more reviews that say this do you need before you take it off the shelves?

the fedex box containing the shipment broken and ripped open in many places--at least 5 product did not contain correct holes to screw in parts should send back--but too much time to assemble--will keep--but product defective i will try to fix myself

Beautiful stand, but would not go together correctly and would never stand straight as the internal threading was askew (manufacturing defect).

Got this as a Christmas present. About to complete assembly when I realized that two of the three pieces for the pole have threads that are not straight. There is no way to assemble the pieces without the entire stand being crooked. Majorly disappointed.

I’ve put together my fair share of products and this has been by far the worst. The base is wobbly and one of the rods is warped so when it screws down it’s lopsided. The whole thing has been super frustrating.

Delivery was quick once I placed the order. It had to be assembled. Two pieces had noticeable scratches and the base was pitted in a few places. I made the decision to return this item when two connecting pieces were out of alignment so they could not be screwed together.
