Several excellent features: has both an adapter for an outlet and battery option. Very small size makes it easy to pack in personal item for air travel. This is especially important for air travel because larger machines can be ruined in carry on luggage with a hard landing. This just happened to me. Price very affordable; features either timer option or ongoing sound; good choices of noise blocking options; sound quality decent and it does indeed block unwanted noise.
I wanted to like this. It got above average reviews wherever I checked. It just didn't meet my needs, I can only use actual white noise, a steady sound. These nature sounds are fine for background in the day, but I don't need then then. The one noise that worked for me was on a loop that made an audible click at regular intervals. Horrible. Maybe you will like it however I sent it back immediately.

Bought for our child to help her sleep. It's got good sounds available for the price and we can leave it on all night since it can time out or not by choice. Really, my only complaint is that its lowest volume setting isn't very quiet, we solved this by setting it upright on the speaker to muffle the sound sometimes.
Love this small little, relaxing sound machine. It produces a lovely sound as loud or soft as you like! Love the sound choices, our favorite is the babbling brook. We sleep so much better with this white noise.
Sound quality is not as good as it might be. That said, its size and shape is great, controls are intuitive and it’s easy to use.
I am a big "water" person. So the selections seemed perfect for me. But, not unlike other sound machines (including expensive ones), the sounds aren't all that "nature-like" so soothing. Also wish for one step softer volume.
Ordered a Big Red Rooster Sound Machine, the ac plug was defective. Took it back to store and replaced with a Homedics Sound Spa, much better unit, Had no problem having defective unit replaced at Bed Bath & Beyond.
The sound is not good I find the sound annoying
