We had a Cuisinart Sandwich Grill for well over 10 years and it was so reliable that we managed to make it work even when the cord started to give out. Well, the cord finally reached its limit (the grill wouldn't turn on without an absurd amount of twisting around) so we decided to invest in a new sandwich maker. It's been around 2 weeks since we started using this sandwich maker and everyone loves it! The removable grill plates makes clean up a lot easier than other grills that are built in. Plus, you can make so many more foods with all 3 plates. My daughter made a grilled cheese sandwich for the first time today using the grill plates. Storage is great too; you wrap the cord around the bottom and you can stand the machine upright so it doesn't take up as much space. I do think the product was a tad pricey for what it is, but if it lasts as long as our original sandwich maker then it's money well spent. This encourages kids to take charge and make a simple yet satisfying meal for themselves!
A word of caution-we purchased this product a few days ago and put all of the plates in the dishwasher to wash prior to first use (the manual says the plates are dishwasher safe). When we took them out to wipe them down, there was a black, paint-like substance wiping off from all of the undersides (not the nonstick sides) of the plates. We called the manufacturer and expressed our concerns about the substance being toxic, and they advised that we return the item. Wanted to share so future buyers are aware of this issue.

This substance can easily be wiped off with a paper towel and will not affect the operation of the product. Didn’t realize how small this was. Maybe good for use for one person.
Not enough heat to cook waffles properly. It took a long time to cook them and they didn’t brown at all. They were a sickly yellow - not appetizing. I didn’t use any of the other plates so I can’t comment on them.
this is one great little machine and we do like it but have concerns about the smell of plastic. We have used it 2-3 times and it still smells like burned plastic. I notice the inside edges being melted. I am temped to order new one and see if still has the same defect so I can returned the defective one to BBB

easy to use and clean
I used mine a few times and dumped it because the waffle setting wasn't getting hot enough to give me the right texture regardless of the recipe or how long I cooked the waffles. No, I didn't try the other settings, but that alone docks it two stars. Black & Decker should count themselves lucky I didn't bother testing the other settings. The external body of the device was nice and the switchable plates locked in nicely, but this is ultimately a product that's a bit of a luxury and I expect something like this to make things taste better, not worse.

Not just a waffle maker but comes with several sets of plates for different uses. Truly multi-puirpose.
Gave this to my DIL for Christmas and she was so excited! Time saver and very versatile!
This little machine is fabulous! It doesn’t take up much space, easy to clean after use and is super easy to use! It’s got 3 inserts so it’s very versatile. Love it!
