Breville® The Q Blender

The Best blender you'd ever want!

We had one of these models for a couple of years, but unfortunately, our house was destroyed in a house fire, and all my "toys" were lost, along with my Breville Q Blender. After moving into another house one of the first things we bought was this Breville Q blender. Yes, it's pretty good size, but from the first Oster blender my parents had back in the early 60's, I've lost count of how many types and brands of blenders we've had since that first one. This big boy does everything I've wanted it to do, from malts to chopping brisket for chopped beef sandwiches..Cracker crumbs? Done in 30 seconds. Easy blender mayo anytime I want it. Easy to clean? A squirt of dish soap and water in the jug, tap the self-clean button and a minute later you're rinsing it and drying it. The thing is pricey, I admit it. But well worth it.

All its functions are excellent and very efficient. I have been able to prepare my vegetable almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, it grinds the grains until they are pulverized, the smoothies have a delicious texture, it is wonderful, it is the best blender, made of high-quality materials. durable quality and easy cleaning besides that it is aesthetically beautiful!!! I am delighted with my Q blender!!

Purchased this at a departmental store over a year ago. Easy to use and functions well and makes the best smoothies, smooth purees (pumpkin, potato, cauliflower etc), crushed nuts and legumes into fine powder. I would have preferred a glass jug but have been impressed that the plastic jug is durable, does not retain smell from vege purees and is easy to clean. The 4-stars rating is due to the drawbacks - ring-pull lid and motor issue. The ring-pull lid is not the easiest to pull off at bench top height. It is easier to just grip the lid to pry off the jug. After many months of great performance, the motor started to smell which made it a safety issue to use. Took it back to the shop for repair as it was under warranty. Unfortunately it took almost 2 months due to repair and parts issues. Store decided to replace it. The Q blender is still a great blender overall and not as noisy as the vitamix.

My initial experiences in using this new blender are mainly positive. It's a replacement for a similar Breville blender. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this new one will not develop a leaking from the bottom problem that occurred with the first one. A couple things I've noticed right off the bat--this one is quieter (yay!) and the lid fits tighter (The fit was secure with the first blender, but not this tight.) Using the setting for green smoothies is what I use most often. With this new blender, the ice cubes (only 2-3) are not completely blended when the green smoothie setting is finished running. I discovered this on its first use, so I started running it a little longer to make sure the ice was blended. Also the greens did not blend as well. They are chopped fine, but very visible, and it's a smoothie that is not real smooth. Again, seems to need more time. I'm still learning how to adjust to correct for such issues. I have not used it very much at this point. I am being meticulous about cleaning as directed immediately after use.

This a powerful blender that really works. The best ever!!!

Great value for a reasonable price.

As a tool this machine is a efficient, strong and versatile. Being a "Breville" fan, all products reflects quality and professionalism in the fabrication. From crushing nuts to blending a soup, the area is huge. I have only 2 quips: the cover and no recipe book. I get it: to blend a big bunch and a hot soup one must not have a brique over the cap so they made one that clicks. I am 74, and 5'2. I just can't open it. We put it on a bench, and my husband tugged at it and it opened up. May I suggest a clip on the vase (reverse the process) You have the best engineers, you can do it. And maybe sell just the new model so I can change it. (the Cap). I love my "Q" (always thing of Star Trek) and I will use profusely...it will just take more time to open it.
