These are beautiful and sturdy knives and I love the built-in sharpening feature. The block is angled a little too much for my taste, making the knives stick out further on the counter than I think they need to and take up too much space. They also rust easily, so make sure to dry them right after washing. Otherwise, a great set.
Got this for my wedding shower and loved the looks of it. Unfortunately it rusted after one year. Extremely disappointed.

I got the product for a month and didn't put it in the dishwasher. however, it still go rusted after a few use, and the situation is getting worse.
I purchased this set of knives in October of 2022. I have no issue with their ability to cut, but do have an issue with the fact that they have been showing signs of rusting from the first time I washed them. I really wanted to invest in something that was strong enough to cut the squash from the garden. They cut small squash fine, but the larger variety forget it. I am very disappointed in having spent nearly 200.00 for this set and would never do it again.
NOT DISHWASHER SAFE AS MARKETED!

I've had the set for 3 years and the knives still perform like they're new. The block however is chipping where the shears are stored. It has no protective sleeve around the entrance...I tried so hard to keep if from chipping but was not successful.

I purchased these knives and I am very, very unhappy with them. They are made of cheap metal. I had them for a few months and they rusted. I reached out to Calphalon and I got them replaced. For What?? The replacements are now rusty too. The worst thing is that Calphalon made me return the rusty knives and butcher block at my expense! I guess submitting various photos of their junky rusted product was not convincing enough. Stay away! I believe all those reviews who mention there knives are rusted.

This is not what we want you to experience. High carbon steel is often used for high-end kitchen knives because it is wear-resistant - it stays sharper longer. Although, we recommend that you keep the knives dry and clean as these can be more susceptible to temporary spotting and staining. Carefully hand drying the cutlery after washing will reduce the likelihood of spots, stains and water marks from appearing on the blades; however, if you forget to hand dry immediately and spots or stains do appear, they can be removed by cleaning the blades with Bar Keeper's Friend® (a non-abrasive stainless steel polish) and a wet sponge. Rinse the cutlery well and dry them immediately before storing. If these don't help and feel that your item is defective, we're glad to inform you that your product carry a limited lifetime warranty, and we'd like to kindly request for you to contact us directly so that we may come up with the best resolution to your concern. knives no longer sharpen after 3 years. all very dull. not worth the price

I've had these for 2 years and they are still in perfect condition. They stay super sharp and I love the variety of knives they included. I do wish the block itself wasn't so angled. It takes up more counter space than I'd like, but still love them.
