I have used mine three times, twice in my high efficiency washer and once in the dishwasher, and it worked just fine in all cases. The two parts of the latch mechanism must be pushed together until they snap or it will open up. I have had no problem getting mine to stay closed or to open when needed. The form is designed to hold the shape of the bill and the front of the hat where any embroidery may be. The remainder of the cap doesn't need it. For the price it is definitely worth it.
The form does not stay closed during the wash cycle and only covers the front half of the cap. On top of that it is very hard to open, I had to use pliers....There does exist a form that covers the whole cap and is easy to open...keep looking!!!

Cap washer works like a charm. Very easy to use.
I had several caps that were extremely dirty and the Cap Washer helped the caps keep shape after several washings.
This cap washer and Spray and Wash has worked well on two hats so far. I tried another cleaner on a hat before getting Spray and Wash. There are similar products to Spray and Wash, so you may have good results with something else. The hat holder works well.
Difficult to turn the plastic knob to open I for the hat. Would not buy this again.

I’ve had this hat washer for years and love it so much that I ordered (this) second one. Works great. No complaints.
Just what i needed to clean my baseball caps
Used in dishwasher per instructions. Hat came out clean and maintained its shape with no shrinking. My son was very happy with the results.
