First off, the quality is tremendous, especially looking at the price point. I think this unit has the same quality in terms of gauge and setup as my Webers. In no way is this a two year grill = look after it and it will LAST. The features are what attracted me. The highest value being the fact it is MUCH less susceptible to wind, with ashes spreading. Second, it uses half the coals I used prior. Third, it cleans up so easily. ZERO comparison to the Weber one-touch cleaning system. Nothing to sweep = it all falls in the pan. Lastly, I've never cooked more juicier product = I'm still trying to figure out why as it honestly works upside down compared to what I'm used to. IE: close the lid for heat, open to cool. But it works. :-) One thing I can definitely share, you need to be conscious of how much charcoal you load as if you use what you are use to, it will run hot. Dial it in, go against instinct and this is a truly wonderful setup that I think, imho, is the best charcoal/grill smoker at this price point. Really well done Char Broil. PS: Better cover option please = high end as this grill is built to that standard. Cheers
Not very happy with this purchase, after one use, the porcelain coating on the cooking grate blistered and now chipping off making it unusable and legs not very strong. On a plus note cooked very well as advertised

I have used the Kettleman charcoal grill twice. First I made burgers and hot dogs using the recommended amount of charcoal and following directions in instruction manual for this kind of food. They came out great! Nice grill marks, no flare ups and delicious. About two weeks later, I made a pork shoulder blade roast [boneless] following the instructions for smoking low and slow. I used my pork rub recipe and the charcoal lasted about 6 1/2 hrs. I did turn the roast several times and it came to 165 degrees F which was nice for slicing but not done enough for pulling. It got rave reviews from my family! So it’s a great grill so far but 22” cooking surface can be a bit small when cooking indirectly.

Just completed my 10th grilling session and am very pleased. Excellent heat control and it requires a fraction of the charcoal my other grills do. Moreover, flare-ups are controlled thus allowing for a hassle free “cook” and great food outcome. The ergonomics and build quality are sound and clean-up is easier than most grills I have used. I am impressed!

Used it many times, always with lump charcoal and a chimney to light it. I find it hard to get it going with newspaper, so I use Fatwood Fire Starter sticks that I have leftover from wintertime and they work great (cut them up into short pieces). I never had such awesome grill marks on my burgers and steaks. Make sure to let the grill heat up about 10 minutes first before slapping down those yummy burgers (Buy good meat, not those frozen hockey pucks that shrink into blackened dry inedible junk).

To sum this grill up in a single word I would use AWESOME. This grill cooks very nice and even no hot or cold spots to worry about. The way the grate is made leaves some really beautiful grill marks on your steaks and other meats. My charcoal use has also been cut in half. The only negative I have is that there is a small lip around the ash catch tray that holds alot of your charcoal ash but I just got a 3 inch paint brush for a buck and it cleans the ash right off. If your a charcoal person I recommend this grill.

I couldn't be happier with my new Kettleman grill. As a life long Weber grill owner, I was unable to maintain a hot fire throughout the cooking time for direct grilling. Problem solved in addition to a lot more versatility.

I have had my Kettleman since the summer of 2018. Overall it is a pretty fine grill. I have used it for burgers, chicken breast, beer can chicken and even ribs. Low and slow takes some figuring out but it has worked out pretty well. While the think the tru-infrared grill grates are a good idea, they are IMPOSSIBLE clean despite using all manner of products. Plus I am on grates # because the first grill grates rusted. All in all its a good solid grill that gets the job done - just wish they'd improve the grates a bit.

The directions for assembly seemed daunting but I was able to put it together in 45 minutes easily. I only had 4 washers left on the floor when I was done. hahaha Its a good-looking, lightweight grill. It gets really hot and stays hot. It has 2 layers of grill inside, one for charcoals and another for food. The charcoal does'nt just lay on the bottom in a dusty pile - after they turn to powder, they fall through the grate into a small bowl at the bottom that can be easily removed and dumped. There are holes around the middle of the grill (right where the coals sit) that enables airflow to keep them hot and a temperature gauge on the front. I am very pleased with my purchase.
