Directions: How To Apply Your Color Do a patch test 48 hours before coloring. When you’re ready to color, mix the colorant (#2) into the developer (#1) and shake it up. Apply hair color to your roots, making sure not to miss any spots. Set your timer for 10 minutes (15 for stubborn grays!). Rinse with warm water until water runs clear and condition.

I have never used hair color at home...until now. The 10-minute root-touch up worked like a charm and covered the gray/silver hair. Just make sure you start with the top layers on your head, and work your way down. I even had enough of the mixture to work all around my head. I left it on for about 15 minutes, and then rinsed out. The grays were no longer visible ! Much less expensive than the frequent root-touchups at the salon, no appointment needed in your own home, and the results were great. It matched my salon-brand hair color perfectly. HELPFUL TIP: take a LARGE clump of your hair out of your HAIRBRUSH, put into a ziploc, and take with you to the store to match your shade. Having a large swatch of your own hair makes a big difference in making sure you get the right match.
I saw the negative comments about this so I looked up the video from the manufacturer. Apparently they only provide enough for your temples and the part you normally use. That is why you run out. Had I known this before I bought it, for the price, I would have bought my normal box of hair color
That is correct Beth. This product is intended to be used in between primary color applications. It is designed to tide you over until your next color application. It's enough for the part line, hair line, and nape of the neck. If you prefer to color a full head of roots try our original Nice N Easy! Hope you check it out!

I bought the clairol touch up kit in the color that I always use , the kits have changed and the accelerant has less in the bottle so I thought it was due to that, come to find out what should have been dark brown is black. Apparently the kit was packaged wrong so if you decide to use this product and the number on the box and the tube of color don’t match don’t use it!!!!

Great product. Easy to use with no fading. However, there is no longer a shade 3 - darkest brown. This option is available in the full head tint but not the root touch up. It used to be. The shade 4 is too light for me and the shade 2, too harsh/dark. Why isn't it available any more? So annoying!

The color came off the palette at the first swipe of the brush and the color went all over the bathroom counter. I have used touch up products before and never had this problem, perhaps it was left too long on the shelf
