We have looked at way too many reviews for waffle irons over the past month - Cuisinart, Hamilton Beach, Breville, Waring, and too many others to remember. Finally we just went to the store and bought one, knowing that no single waffle iron came away from the reviews unscathed. We bought the little round Cuisinart for $29 - $23 with out store coupon. This morning we made waffles. We read the instructions, whipped up a batter, and just made waffles. They were golden brown, didn't stick and tasted great. If you want waffles this is a good buy. Btw - want fabulous batter? Order War Eagle Mills Cinnamon Pecan Pancake/Waffle Mix. For waffles use 2c mix + 2c water + 2 egg yolks + 1/3c melted butter and the 2 remaining eggs whites, whisked to foaming. Stir mix, water and yolks, and then add the butter and egg whites. Pour in just under 1/2c of batter. Awesome! We never had to oil the waffle maker and they never stuck. Heat at 4.5 - 5 for a bit of crunch.
Don't ever use this without some sort of cooking spray!!!!!! The instructions recommend cooking at Level 3, I'd recommend cooking at Level 4 to insure the center of your waffle gets cooked. I believe it also says to use 1/2 cup of batter, use only 1/3 cup to avoid spillage. It would be nice if you could remove the plates for cleaning.

I love the light indicator, letting you know when its ready and the adjustable control for crispness/browning level. So far, it is true to its non-stick claims, but I've only used it a few times. If these qualities last, i would give it a 5.

I do not like Belgian style waffles and had the hardest time finding one that made "traditional" waffles. This one does! Love it!

Easy-peasy. "American" waffles (not deep wide Belgian ones) like I had as a kid. Glad it has control for light-to-dark.

It's a nice little waffle maker. It's very light weight so it's not a chore taking it out and using it. It makes very nice waffles. The only criticism I have is the lever for the browning settings is really loose. I don't know if I'm at 4 or 5 because it has that much play.

This makes delicious waffles for us. It is easy to use and clean. My only issue is the cooking is a tad uneven.
