We have had this wine opener for 4 years. We drink and serve a fair amount of wine and this is by far the best - most effortless wine opener we've ever had. We only charge it when the battery runs out - usually after 60+ bottles. Then we plug in the charger and give it a full charge. Maybe that has helped it last so long. I like not having the charger sitting out all the time. We're now buying one for my son. NOTE: I suspect some 1 star reviewers are not using it correctly. You press the arrow down to insert the corkscrew into the cork and then press and hold the up arrow to remove the cork. You then press and hold the down arrow again to release the cork from the device. Simple.
My sister and I bought these for each other on our birthdays. We previously had another brand that worked for years. Upon getting it home, we both noticed that these will pull out the cork just fine, however the cork will not then eject from the opener properly, it just spins around inside the opener and you have to reach in with something sharp and grab the cork to encourage it to come out. What a hassle to return it! The old brand we used for years is being closed out and apparently the newer ones have issues as well. If anyone knows of a GOOD electric wine opener please speak up!

This product promised to solve a long-standing problem: Removing wine corks with arthritic hands. Well... It's beautifully designed, and looks good on the counter. Difficulty is that it simply doesn't do the job. It either can't engage the cork and just pushes it into the bottle, or it does engage, and then doesn't have the power to remove it. Save your money.

It makes things so much easier and faster. I have arthritis in my hands, so I love this because it requires no effort or force. Just hold the opener as straight as possible, hold on to the bottle, and press the button (bottom) until the screw pulls the cork out. Then press the reverse button (top) until it releases the cork in your hand. I love it!

I don't mind opening a bottle of wine with the traditional wine opener but this makes wine opening truly a breeze. It's uniqueness is also nice with company as people love to use it as a topic of conversation. It works fast, easy to use, and the cork is off in seconds. The only con is that it does not easily go back into the cradle. You have to play around with it a bit to get to rest in there properly for charging. Otherwise, it is a very nice product and one I keep on my counter at all times to use on a regular basis. I trust Cuisinart as I own many products and know they last.

Smooth operation. Simple design and easy to operate. I didn't need any bells & whistles- opener and foil cutter, that's all I need. And compared to others I've had, it's the best so far for ease & ergo design. For someone older like me who doesn't have a lot of arm or wrist strength, it's perfect! Just plug in & go! Also, fairly sleek looking & doesn't take up too much room on countertop, so that's a bonus!
