I have had a Cuisnart Food Processor for over 35 years. Sadly it just broke this Christmas when I was preparing my lucious Lemon Bars for a client. I am a home baker and of course you learn what works for you so things move easily & professionally, so when this unfortunate incident occurred I wanted to replace with another Cuisinart since I have had such great results over these years. I ordered this one and love the look and it is lighter than the original which saves on my aging back. One thing I do not like with this newer model is when I pulse the flour and butter together some of the mixture blows up and out the feed tube all over the base! I looked at the design and there are 4 small openings that run along the bottom of the large push tube which allows for the flour & powdery ingredients to come up through there and fly out. I don't understand the purpose of that design at all. I did cover the bottom of the push tube with parchment paper and then put it down the large feed tube prior to pulsing, but why should I have to do that? I am not returning the processor as I have used it a few times now, but I must complain about that one strange feature. But one more thing has come to mind is that when this is washed and you want to dry it (feed tube pusher) it is virtually impossible to dry as there are very small and areas that are so close to the sides they just have to air dry and look spotty. I guess I will have to learn to live with the imperfections, but it is surprising that such a respected name to the appliance industry didn't look into a better design so I could be 100% happy and not having to design a make-shift fix. I am also with the customer that wondered where to store the blades and discs? Why couldn't they give you a storage box like Breville does? That should be a standard addition to keep them protected & in their best condition, right?
I purchased this food processor after having an older model for about 15 years. It was recommended on the Cooks Illustrated website as their winner in tests. I wanted this to be a great machine like the older model, but it has been a HUGE disappointment. Since receiving it, it has not worked well. When using it for making simple doughs, such as pizza dough, the motor seemed strained and slowed down significantly and wouldn't mix the dough properly. The same thing happened when I attempted to grate parmesan cheese. I contacted Cuisinart and was told that their newer models don't have as strong a motor as their older versions!! I sent it in and was told that they would replace the motor. When it was returned to me, it had no explanation of what work was done so I contacted the customer service number and was told that they repaired the motor as it was overheating. When I attempted to use the processor, I had the exact same problems. I returned the machine again for repair. I'm hoping this will be an improvement, but I feel doubtful. I spoke with their customer service people on three different occasions and they were RUDE, INDIFFERENT TO MY CONCERNS AND COMMENTS, AND DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE AT ALL ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS. I would not recommend any Cuisinart product with this type of customer service.

It can seem like such a hassle to pull out the very heavy food processor in order to chop, grate or slice, but in reality, it saves so much grief to have a very efficient machine save literal hours in the kitchen. This is a very flexible size and is very versatile.

Great Food Processor! Need option to purchase complete blade set at time of purchase or after. If that were an option I would rate it at 10 stars if I could.

I'm very pleased with this purchase. I was surprised by how easy it is to use and how fast it is to deliver the results that I want. The quality of the product is apparent as soon as you take it out of the box. More importantly, this food processor delivers consistently good results.

i like the compact feature of this machine. not in love with the feed tube feature. installing/removing basket could be easier. does its job as a processor. made pasta dough with it in minutes.
