My husband gave this to me for Christmas. I read the reviews before I tried it and was nervous I would need to exchange it. This can opener works great! It's quick, quiet and just does the job with no fuss. I think the bad reviews may come from people forcing it on the wrong way. The first time I used it I thought I needed to hold tight & press hard. The truth is you hold the can against the 2 guide bars & lightly press down on the handle. The machine does the rest & cleanly lifts the lid up & away. I highly recommend this product
We have had several Cuisinart products over the years, toaster oven, cookware, etc. We have always been very pleased with the brand. That is why we are so very disappointed in this can opener. We didn't really intend to spend this much on a can opener but thought since it was Cuisinart brand and the look would have it blend in on the counter we went for it. Big mistake. From the start it would only do a fair job of opening cans. It would hesitate and you would have to help it along. We thought, give it some time. Well, a little over 2 ½ months later it is even worse. It struggled to open a can of tuna! We mostly use it to open 13 oz cans of dog food once a day. Today I had to turn the can all the way around to get it to open. It may have been easier to use a manual can opener. Btw - we bought this to replace a can opener that was half the price and that lasted us 5 years or more. This opener has to go back and we'll replace it with the same model we had before this one.

Found this to be easy to work, and oh so grateful to take blade off to clean after each use to avoid gummy residue and eventual rust!

I needed an electric can opener because of pain in my hands from arthritis which makes it difficult to use a manual can opener. Tired of throwing out unopened cans of food, I purchased this Model SCO-60 Power Cut Series Deluxe Stainless Steel Can Opener. Although technologically challenged, this is very easy to use.

This is not only a beautiful can opener but one that works beautifully. It is easy to operate and clean...what more could you ask for.

I was very satisfied for first 3 weeks then it broke. The can rests on two pins when opening. One has come out will not stay in place. It looks good, but a mess to try to use. Company has not offered to fix or replace.

Opens the can well enough but drops the can on the counter as soon as it completes the circle. Makes a mess. You have to stand there with your hand over it waiting to catch it. Really disappointed.
