Cuisinart® Elemental Food Processor with 11-Cup and 4.5-Cup Workbowls in Gunmetal

There are flaws with this food processor. Flaws with using the processor include, first, the instructions should include how to assemble and attach the parts of the big bowl, small bowl and lid. Very difficult, frustrating and time-consuming to figure out. Next, if you try chopping small items in small amounts such as capers in the large bowl, it will NOT chop them. No matter what speed or pulse you have it on it immediately thrusts them to the bottom outer rim of the bowl, un-chopped. Not sure whether the small bowl does this as well - I don't want to dirty or hassle with changing to the smaller bowl when I'm already working with the big bowl. Another flaw, when blending various foods together in the big bowl small amounts of the un-blended foods conglomerate around the bottom of the center spindle. So, when you scoop or pour out the mixed ingredients - there is un-bleneded food left around the center spindle. Also, food splatters all up inside the lid and it's crevices, making it difficult to clean. Problems with shredding: Using the feed tube, pieces of shredded foods get compacted and jammed in crevices in the lid. So tight you have to keep stopping your shredding and get a knife to dig them out. What a pain. Additionally, it has a poor shredding design. Using the feed tube and adhering to the instructions that come with the processor - when you put a fruit or vegetable into the feed tube it doesn't cut the final piece uniformly & it leaves a large section of the fruit or vegetable un-cut when completed, so you end up having to slice or cut that part by hand. A serious flaw: shredding cheese has it's problems with this processor. Same thing happens as with the vegetables described above - a large piece of cheese at the final stage not getting shredded and you have to shred it by hand. And worse, what a pain digging out the mushed, impacted cheese from the crevices in the lid! So much time spent cleaning and digging it out - may as well use the old fashioned hand shredder. In addition, the cheese shredder makes long strands of cheese, not short shreds. Doesn't really work well for some dishes. Last, it took several times and cracking a plastic piece from the multi-piece lid for me to start remembering to never lay the multi-piece lid upside down after using it on the food processor. The lid has integrated within it the feed tube and a couple plastic parts within the feed tube that fall out when you start to turn it over - crash, crack!
