The workhorse I've been looking for! Levelheaded ·

I've had this food processor for about two weeks. After thoroughly reading the guide, I've used it several times: both bowls, the disks and two of the blades. Man, does this thing prep food fast! The motor sounds smooth and capable, there's lots of room in the 14 cup bowl, it's easy to clean since there aren't little crannies, and it's very sturdy. I've pureed, chopped, sliced, shredded, blended, made a pound cake, and quick bread. It's fast and convenient. It's very heavy and I store it on the counter in the corner. It rests on a towel because the feet are rubber. I'm not strong, so slide it back and forth to use it. The disks and blades are inside a box that goes in my cupboard: keeps those dangerous edges contained. My first food processor (purchased 30 years ago), was only a 7 cup model from a different brand and it was never big or powerful enough. I basically stopped using it. This one is magnificent! By the way, various reviews from different sites put the peak power at 1300, 1400, and 1000 watts variously. The guide says: 1300 watts. I'm assuming that'll be on the dough setting.

After years of using Cuisinart food processors with mixed results, we tried upgrading (in total cup capacity, power, flexible slicing options) to Cuisinart's FP-14DC (die cast) from our worn Cuisinart DLC-2007N. This unit was a significant investment for our family. As we make a majority of all our meals for everyone in our household, food safety and time savings are extremely important. Unfortunately, we found several flaws with the Cuisinart FP-14DC. 1. The Cuisinart bowl and lid are not BPA-free, which risk leaching BPA into the food we prepare for our children and ourselves. 2. The Cuisinart spring loaded/gasketed lid does not always close fully even with the safety is engaged which can spatter food outward into the sub bowls and bowl lip that should otherwise stay completely on the inside of the unit. 3. There is a major design flaw with the Cuisinart lid where food also gets trapped in the spring loaded / gasket of the lid and is nearly impossible to remove. This is not our first Cuisinart food processor, but this latest lid design is horrible. We tried scrubbing the unit for longs periods of time with toothbrushes, thin hose cleaners, and jets of water, - to no avail. The food trapped between the gasket side, top-underside, or tight contoured corners stays behind and ends up causing mold growth and further makes the Cuisinart unit unsafe for food prep in our opinion, not to mention a major time waster. We returned the Cuisinart to BBB today. We were pleasantly surprised that Breville BFP800XL addressed all of the flaws found in the Cuisinart unit. The Breville provides; *PBA-free bowl and parts *The lid closes completely and tightly so that food will not splatter if the feed shoot is also covered as directed *The lid cleans EASILY and QUICKLY without wasting excess water, effort, or time. Bonus for us are the additional blade options, spatula, and cleaning brush that Breville thoughtfully included in the kit. We returned the Cuisinart FP-14DC and replaced it with the Breville Sous Chef 800XL. This unit is our second Breville product and we could not be happier with the product so far.

Powerful motor Kudra ·

I wanted it’s more powerful motor but I would have preferred a smaller size. 14 cups. Is huge when most of my usage is for smaller batches

Powerful/Heavy Rabbix ·
Recommended Not Recommended

We have used the unit only a few times--so our experience is limited at this point. What we do know is that it is (1) Heavy/apparently well-built. (2) Powerful. (3) Slower than our aged-out (1960's) Robot Coupe. Not great at home-made mayo, for instance. That said, chopping/slicing/etc. works perfectly

Small blade Manufactured Concern ·
Recommended Not Recommended

The small blade had a factory made imperfection at the the area where the blade fit onto the base. My concern was that over time the plastic would erode and chip off into the food. I was sent a new blade that had a smaller imperfection as the first blade bit it was smoother and I didn't feel it would erode with use over time.

Power horse Cuisinart Accomplished Cook ·

Great heavy duty machine but shredding parm was not to my liking. Machine bucked with the rind of the cheese & the grind not good with the blade used. I’ve used a Kitchen Aid for over 20 years & cheese grind blade fine. The Cuisinart was not good. All that aside, it’s a power horse, I’ll simply use my Mulinex for cheese.

Shredding???? Skorn ·
Recommended Not Recommended

This was a replacement for my original Cuisinart DC5 purchased in the late 1970's which still worked fine, but needed more capacity. Not sure if it is a defect, but the shredding disc is too small and so carrots, and any other veggie being shredded slips through and does not get shredded. Horrible design. Cannot use the shredding disc with the smaller work bowl, and liquid spills out from the cover. I would love to return but past 60 days. Buyer beware

I purchased this processor to emulsify meat for my homemade hot dogs. Its a beast !!! It gets the job done real fast. It is much better than my old processor for emulsifying.
