Dorm Space Saver

The dorm space saver does just what it says, saves space. I place the dorm space saver behind my daughter's bed in her dorm room.This allows her to put her books,remote for TV and it also has a cupholder and a feature attach so she can hang her key chain on it.

I've spent the last 4 years looking for a storage solution that wouldn't require me to drill holes in the walls of my rented flat. I also needed something that was open at the back so it didn't obstruct the radiator in my sitting room which cannot be switched off. I was unable to find anything even remotely suitable in the UK. Now that BB&B is part of Border Free, I started looking - out of interest, rather than with any real intention of purchasing anything - to see what sort of storage goodies i could see. Because who doesn't like novel storage goodies? Then I spotted this - it is absolutely perfect for my needs. Right down to being the correct colour to complement all my other sitting room furniture and wall units/bookshelves. The two shelves can be set at any height required and they are deep enough and sturdy enough to take a serious collection of items. Between the Space Saver and 2 sets of flip shelves (the wide 4 shelf unit and the narrow 3 shelf unit which fit neatly into/under the space saver), I've now managed to put all my craft books and magazines and my spinning and knitting accessories (and my grand-daughter's toys) in one place and neatly, instead of having it all tucked in various places and looking quite messy. This seems to be made of good quality and sturdy materials and I would expect it to last someone many years - even if it is dismantled, moved and set up again numerous times over the years. I managed (with a bit of a struggle) to put this together single handed - one doesn't need to be particularly 'handy' to do so, but I would say if 2 people were to assemble it, it could be done in 5 minutes. Personally, I consider this item to be worth every penny (including the shipping and taxes) I paid for it.

We were unable to get it to be sturdy. Will be returning the product.

Some of the holding caps were cracked upon arrival, so some pieces we could not use like the beverage holder and hooks. Other very pretty over her bed in the dorm.

Love this product. My first daughter has this for her dorm room (works for beds that are not lofted to the ceiling) and loved it. Just bought it for my second child as my first won't give hers up!

I purchased this for my preteen granddaughters room and she loves it. She has more room for her hampster cage and books.

My daughter is 5'9" and used it over her bed. She had her bed on bed risers. It was wonderful storage space. We placed a tray on the bottom shelf so small things would not fall through. Baskets on the top to look neat. If she was tall she my not have been able to lose the inches of bed space. She switched roommates and they decided to bunk the beds. They moved the shelf over the dresser and refrigerator and it became the kitchenette. I also bought one for my sons dorm for over his desk.

Definitely space saving and useable item for dorm room! Big pain to put together - try to assemble before you reach the dorm room.
