This paddle is just the right size for me as I typically make 14" to 15" pizza's. It's strong enough but yet light weight. I have one made of bamboo that I really like too but it's much thicker and I like this one a bit more because it's thinner and easier to get the cooked pizza out of the oven.
I've made pizza for the family (3 kids) every Saturday for the past two years. Our old wooden peel was cracking and I was excited when I saw this one. When I pulled the pizza off the stone I left it on the peel to cool. Big mistake! I came back into the kitchen a few minutes later to cut the pizza and about fell on the floor the adhesive smell was so strong - I tasted a small piece of the pizza and it was horrible - it had a formaldehyde taste to it. We had to throw out the pizza and come up with something else on the fly. Bed Bath and Beyond was great about the return but say away from this peel. Still looking for a peel to replace the old one...

Have never exposed to high heat - but years later it smell, and makes pizza taste like epoxy resin. Tossed mine tonight after another pizza ruined. Hours later you can still smell it on the pizza. This can’t be healthy.
We can't get over how this "paper" pizza peel out preforms our traditional wood one. It' s lighter, can be cleaned thoroughly and pizza slides off of it much easier. Good product!
Why in God's name would they choose to cure this wooden board with embalming fluid? I'm a medical student, and very familiar with that scent. It's not exactly something I like smelling in my kitchen! Whoever made that decision needs to be fired yesterday.
My teenager uses this weekly to slide a frozen pizza in and out of the oven. He then uses it as a cutting/serving board for his pizza. It's lightweight and the thin edge on one end makes it easy to get under the pizza on the oven rack. I bought a second one to send off to college with him. Large size is functional, but also means it will only fit on the outer most side of my dishwasher.
Exactly what I needed to finally get pizza right! No matter which pan I used, the crust was always too soggy. Recently I decided to try that pizza stone I'd had for years and never used. To get the pizza onto that hot stone, I invested in this pizza peel. I found that using a peel to transfer pizza to an already-hot stone makes all the difference! Here's my method: Make dough (I use my bread machine on dough cycle). Put a pizza stone on a low rack in a cold oven, then heat oven as high as it will go. When preheated, stretch dough out, sprinkle a good amount of flour and cornmeal anywhere dough will touch the peel. Have all toppings cut and ready to go. Put dough on the peel. Working quickly, add sauce and toppings. Use the peel to slide the dough onto the hot stone. Crust gets crispy (yay), pizza cooks so fast (really just a few minutes) and the crust edge gets browned and bubbly. This peel is good size, smooth and easy to clean, slim and easy to store. I'm so happy with this purchase.
I just used this for homemade pizza and it works great. Not sure what the negative reviews are talking about. Sounds like user error. You have to flour the surface before putting the pizza dough on the peel. It slides right off onto a pizza stone in the oven. I didn’t notice any odor. I don’t recommend cooking on it because the proper temp for homemade pizza is 500 degrees and this is only for use up to 375. Very happy with this purchase
I purchased this with the hope we could make a large rectangular pizza on it and transfer to the pizza stone in the oven. . It doesn’t , because the dough sticks to it, even with a dusting of flour. Works great to remove pizza after baking. I mean for 35 plus dollars, I would not recommend.
This pizza peel makes no sense as you cannot put it in oven above 350 degrees. I used once and it turned discolored and doesn’t make sense if you can’t get to a proper pizza temperature.
