Easy to use and quieter than an electric grinder

I've been looking for a good grinder for my french press and I'm still looking. The first problem is that the burrs don't seem to bite. It's a slow grind process. It's not at all difficult to turn, but it doesn't grind much per turn. The second problem is that it does poorly for a coarse grind. I have it adjusted all the way and it is the texture I would use for automatic drip. It still leaves behind a fine powder, making for a sloppy french press. But if you are grinding for small amounts of espresso, this may be for you. It does do fine really well. As far as recommending this product, I would ask what you were looking for it to do before saying yes or no

I wanted a coffee grinder that would maintain the integrity of the beans and not cost a fortune. While I wouldn't necessarily want to use this to grind large quantities or beans, it is all part of the ritual for my morning fix made in a French press.

This is just what my husband needed. It works great, he just wishes there were extra storage glasses available for different types of coffee. A good product nonetheless.

Does the job well. It is quiet. The outcome is relatively uniform. Of course, it takes human effort to “run” it. (No electric motor). When you’re off the grid, you can still use it. It comes apart. The extra lid keeps the lower container tightly sealed. Stores easily. If you don’t want to crank the mechanism, get an electric unit.

This is the best grinder! We really love it. It does take a bit of strength to grind when it's full, but the coffee tastes great. Easy to clean, and love self storage.

I've had this for a month or so, and I'm very happy with it. It seems to be quite sturdy, grinds consistently, and there's something satisfying about using a manual grinder like this. Also easy to clean. It took me a couple tries to figure out exactly how much I needed to grind for a cup, since my old electric grinder (which died right after coming off warranty) would do that for me, but now I know 100 turns of the crank produces the right amount for my wife's cafe latte.

Really enjoying my new grinder. I look forward to the aroma every morning, and the coffee just tastes better when freshly ground. Only gave it three stars for ease of use because it is hard to keep on the counter (think a bit wider base would help) and does take a couple minutes to grind enough beans for two cups of coffee--about 130 turns of the crank, but it's worth the effort.
