This is a great product. Our grandson is highly allergic to all kinds of foods. We bought this to dehydrate fruit for homemade granola bars. We dry the fruit, put it in vacuum bags & put them into the freezer. FoodSaver has one bag that is seamed & perforated down the middle. This is great when you just need a small portion of what you have vacuum packed. We are very pleased over this product & would buy it again.
My old Professional model died after about 20 yrs and I replaced it with this smaller/less expensive model. It seems to get the job done and I will know for sure when I take the steaks out of the freezer in a couple of months. I could tell immediately that this one does not have equal suction power to the larger discontinued model, but it works for now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased each of our 4 married children for Christmas. Received so many raves of its many uses, I purchased one for myself. That was at least 15 years ago & it still works great.

I have owned a food saver for several years. My sister purchased a freezer and I knew just what she needed. I bought her this food saver and plenty of bags. She loves it.

This machine is just way to big and perched up at a weird angle if you have larger items to seal like steaks or ground beef it won’t allow the lid to close, you have to leave at least 5-6 in extra which makes you waste more bags. Better buying a vacuum sealer that is flat so large items can be sealed. I wasted a few lb of ground beef and a prime filet because this failed to seal peoperly
