Forest Gate Solid Wood Twin Bunk Bed

Wow! My hands hurt! These screws were SOOO hard to screw in. Two screws would absolutely not screw in and are now stripped! I have no idea what I’m going to do if I have to take this thing apart because there wasn’t any extra screws in the box. The slats are so far apart. My eldest is 8yr old and he doesn't feel safe sleeping on the top bunk. My 7yr old now sleeps on top but i have had to push the corner of the mattress back into place multiple times now because it slips through the wide space between the slats right by the ladder. So if you climb up, theres a chance that your knee will push the mattress through the gap. I hope that makes sense. I’ll have to add extra pieces of wood between the slats to make it feel more secure and safer. If BBB wants to send me some extra screws and maybe a few extra slats for both the beds, id appreciate it. I wont hold my breath though. This is the second time i'm writing this review because my original one (with photos) isnt showing up. Pro: This bed is solid. It’s finish is very smooth and beautiful. There isnt any knots in the wood or any splinters. It was packaged beautifully and didn't have a single dent or nick in the wood. It’s honestly a beautiful bed.

I’ll have to add more to make it feel more secure and safer. Pro: This bed is solid! It’s finish is beautiful and smooth. It was packaged beautifully. Not one dent or nick in the wood. It’s honestly a beautiful bed. Overall score would be 8/10. It would have been 10/10 if it wasn’t so hard to screw the screws in, and there were maybe 6 more slats per bed. I would have given this 5 stars if it weren’t for these issues.

Unless you will hire professional to install, stay away from this item. Poorly built quality makes assembly process painful and long. Two of nail spots on the head board is unfinished, so that I have to dig a hole by myself which takes forever. One of the Safeguard nail is still hanging out like two inches because it is impossible to screw it all the way in. I would totally stay away from it if i knew this poorly build item would waste so much time to install.

It's fine but a screw broke inside and I don't know if I'm sure. Also the space between bed and bed is very small. They should make that taller.

Our girls (6 and 2) have been using these beds for a month now, as two separate beds side-by-side on the floor. I love that we can use them this way while the kids are small, and mount them as bunk beds when they're a bit older. I also love that they're made of real wood and not MDF. It was a great deal with the 20% off BED BATH AND BEYOND coupon. My only complaint for now is that they can be creaky right from the start. I don't know if this has to do with the quality of the wood, or the fact that the slats that live under the mattresses are very much spaced apart. We may install some additional wood planks between the existing slats to see if this makes a difference, but I can say that they're spaced out enough that our mattresses regularly get wedged between the last slat and the bed frame in the corners of the bed if an adult sits on the corner. Would still recommend based on the pros.

Some of the screws came stripped. I have reached out the manufacturer with no response for replacement screws. The slats are not very sturdy.
