BBB has the best price for this butter dish, & believe me, I have shopped around! It is very pretty & will look very nice on your dining table. Very heavy & fits all types of butter sticks. You won't be disappointed.
The reason for buying the GODFINGER DUBLIN CRYSTAL COVERED BUTTER DISH, was its apparent European size - meaning we wanted a butter dish that could hold the European size rectangular butter like the ones sold here in the United States - the Irish butter - THE DUBLINER and the French butter - PRESIDENT. The European butter does indeed fit the dish but once one puts the lid on it - it is in fact to narrow and does not go over the butter - so it is a mute point. One has to cut the butter rectangle in half so that it can fit in the covered butter dish which is annoying and defeats the purpose. Bed Bath and Beyond should inform the manufacturer that their Dublin butter dish has a design flaw and that before putting such an item on the market they should test it - with European size butter in it and with the lid on top of it.

The dimensions listed here on BB&B for this item are incorrect. According to Godinger's website, this butter dish is 8.13L X 3.50W X 3.88H. This dish will hold a European butter stick, an East Coast Stick as well as a West Coast Stick of butter but NOT a full 1 pound of butter.
I love the way it looks. I had a similar one many years ago This one is just as beautiful It goes with everything and it serves to make that morning cup of tea with toast and jam seem so special !! I think you will enjoy spoiling yourself with this. Enjoy !!
The butter dish just arrived one week late It was not damaged and is beautiful. It’s just surprising how long the delivery took.

This dish does NOT hold a pound of butter!!! Ridiculous. The measurements are completely off. It's very pretty but not as described. I will have to trim the butter to fit it. Oh that's so convenient!!
