As long as it is compatible with the system you have at home this thermostat is easy install and follow the steps.

Initial setup was made easy with the step by step instructions on the app. I like the schedules that are easy to set up and that it goes on Eco Mode when it senses that I'm away. It doesn't connect to my Alexa which has been annoying and keeps disconnecting to from my Google Home app so I've had to set it back up a few times.

Connectivity issues can be caused by different factors like location and distance of Nest device, Wi-Fi router, outdated phone and Nest app. This may also be caused by Wi-Fi network congestion, and Wi-Fi interference with other devices and/or networks. Removing other devices from your Wi-Fi might help.You can also try setting up your Nest Thermostat on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more reliable. I have the Nest learning thermostat in my house and got this one for my (detached) garage which has a separate furnace. I love the nest in my house but this one is a significant drop off in ease of use and functionality. First of all the Nest app doesn’t work with this thermostat, only the google home app which I find is much harder to navigate compared to the Nest app. This thermostat also doesn’t work with temperate sensors (should have done my research) but this is a huge loss for certain situations. The physical thermostat itself doesn’t look that great, you can clearly see the rectangular screen within the circular body which makes it look cheap. The temp dial on the thermostat doesn’t work that great and is totally inferior to the learning thermostat dial. Overall it’s a 2/5 whereas the learning thermostat is a solid 5/5. Further, the Nest app is a 5/5 and google home (for controller thermostats) is 3/5.

We love our new Google Nest thermostat! Install instructions were excellent. I would like to see some improvements to the google home app - it took a few days to figure out how to optimize our settings. Also, haven't figured out if the model we have, learns...

Even for an old guy I was able to set up the thermostat and its performance has exceeded my expectations.
