I read the bad reviews and had to add my 2 cents. I have used this tape for years and had the company I work for buy it exclusively for shipping. It's a middle thickness tape - 3M being the thick type that sticks well but is too stiff to hold corners and folds well and the cheap thin type that rips and wrinkles easily like the post office uses. This is the best compromise that dispenses well, is easy to run a straight seem without wrinkles, adheres well, and is strong. I occasionally get some "chips" from it when cut with the saw-tooth blades on most dispensers, but the only way to minimize that is to go too thick. For our application, it's been the best we've found for sealing boxes for shipping.
Bought two rolls. WORST tape I've ever used. It is extremely difficult to unwind from the roll--sticks together SO hard. Other tapes just roll right off. This is a struggle. Will never buy again.

Everytime I waste more tape. While Packing. Because of the poor quality, poor strength of the tape it breaks all the time when unraveling. I will Never use this tape or Company. Again.

I bought a two-roll package and it is all useless, except maybe as paperweights. Impossible to unspool effectively: it splits every time I try to use it. Then it's a struggle to find the end and all but impossible to start again in one piece, and then it splits again, etc., etc. Last time I tried to use the shreds I managed to get off the spool some areas had no adhesive and wouldn't stick. It could not be a worse product.

|We are sorry that you had a bad experience using our packing tape, and can understand how frustrating this could be. If you can manage to get a solid corner up with your fingernail, then it helps to use your finger or thumb to roll up the edge diagonally from the corner until you get the full width of the tape to grasp and avoid shredding. Hope this helps!
Have used your GREEN packaged " HD CLEAR " packing tape for many years, with great success. Now you have changed to the RED packaged "HD CLEAR" packing tape...and it is clearly as thinner, poorer quality tape that rips easily....VERY DISSATISFIED! You clearly went to an inferior quality product....to save costs.....now you have lost a loyal customer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this a bit back and really liked how thick it was. Clearly not going to rip. Could likely hold heavy boxes together without the fear of everything falling out the bottom. A bit hard to cut without a sharp knife, but thats kind of the point. I'd buy again

I bought this a month ago and I hate it! I tape a box, and by the time I have packed it, the tape at the bottom has come loose. Using MUCH MORE TAPE THAN I SHOULD HAVE TO! Don’t buy this stuff. You will regret it.
