The lid seems to made of some light cheep materials. Couldn’t find the stainless steel lids description on the package. BB&B description could be misleading. It’s not air tight. I don’t feel comfortable to store it in the refrigerator for a relative long time, like a month. Disappointed.

I really love these canisters. I've bought a second set. The lids screw on tightly, keeps contents fresh .Looks great on my countertop and shelving. Good to see when you may be low on a product and they'e just pretty! Nice wt glass,not to heavy but thick enough glass to make them durable.

I use them to store different kinds of rice, because we use at least four different kinds of rice.

It’s a little heavy, but. Keep things fresh, neat & organized.

I bought these about 6 years ago, so to be fair, I've had them for a while. They looked very nice sitting in the counter in our kitchen for 2-3 years, and then the lids began to warp. They still screw on fine, but the metal started to crack and curl upward. This happened on all four canisters. This has made them a bit dangerous - if you're not careful, you could easily slice a finger on these. The glass bases are still in great shape. Too bad the lids are not durable .

Before I bought these glass canisters, I had been storing flour and sugar in metal canisters. Unfortunately, last summer, my kitchen was infested with ants and they were able to get into my flour and sugar. With these canisters, the kids screw on very tightly an I do not think I will have the same problem ever again!

I bought these and thought that the tops would be hard metal. Not knowing how Flimsy they are. Very disappointed.
