I've looked and looked and looked for a stylish, accurate and functional scale, without a lot a lot of fancy, extra features. I only wanted it to weigh, not be connected to my phone with bluetooth, measure body fat, check heart rate or all of the other special features that most scales offer these days. In my opinion, these features are expensive, would never be used in our house and are just more to break. Since our scale sits out for everyone to see, it was important to have one that looks good and stays clean looking. The black textured surface is so nice and does not show every mark or smudge - it looks good from day to day. Because it is used often, it barely needs dusted. Cleaning is simple - just spray a cloth with any simple cleaner and wipe it down. No glass cleaner needed. We've had clear glass ones and they look good right after you clean them, but in reality they get foot-prints and smudges easily. And if you forget to clean before guests come, it looks really bad. With all my raving, the only negative feature preventing me from rating this 5 stars is the beep it makes after it reaches your weight. I do not see a way to turn it off or turn it lower. It beeps a short, audibly loud beep every time you weigh. Other than that, I am happy to have this scale, after looking for one for so long. I always shop around for price and to read reviews, but this scale is a BBB exclusive, so I couldn't find it elsewhere. It is priced right for the quality, function and design it offers. With a coupon, it's a great price. If you have struggled finding an accurate and simple scale, I think you'll be happy with this one. If you read reviews, you will find what I did - this is one of the few scales that is getting consistently good reviews. Most simple scales have poor reviews and ratings. I pride myself on posting only meaningful and unbiased reviews. I, too, rely on reviews for my personal buying decisions and believe that legitimate reviews are invaluable to buyers. It is very odd to me that people have wonderful reviews of the accuracy of this scale when I am shown a different weight every time i stand on the scale. It could be 1 minute apart and I am shown a 5 lb difference between each weigh in. Incredibly disappointed.

I purchased this scale couple of days back and put in the new batteries, today it is showing that the battery is low. My expectation was batteries would survive at least one month, so will change the batteries once to check and then will decide whether I have to keep or return it.
I’ve been using this scale now for about 4 years now and 3 of them were while I was wrestling, so I’d weigh in everyday multiple times a day. This thing is as accurate as you can get for the price, it was always within about 1lb give or take compared to the $500+ scales. Still using it and I’ve replaced the battery’s once. I’ve trusted this scale for making weight and it’s never failed.
Bought a Detecto scale because I have always had them and they were always very reliable, worked and made well. Well- not this one. Worked for approximately two months. Would give minus zero stars if I could but one star is the lowest it will let you rate.
Had an old spring type scale. Needed an upgrade. Read the reviews, liked what I saw. Once in home, I use it about once a week. This HoMedics scale is right on, very stylish and easy to store. First time had a scale that the doctors scale and my home scale read the same! Very pleased.
Bought this scale to keep tabs on our cat's weight (I weigh myself, then her and I, and figure out the difference). I can step on the scale multiple times and it reads the same every time. I think this is due to its accuracy, but also stepping in the same spot each time (just a tip for other users). Lightweight and fashionable. I like the blue light--can step on the scale in the dark if necessary. I highly recommend!
Can read the numbers. very clear. i love it
I've had this scale for a while and have the same complaint as the customers who selected one star: it gives different readings each time to step on it and you don't know which reading is accurate.
Works well, is a sleek design and is very thin so you can slide it under a bed
