Once the product is set up, it works without any problems (at least so far). Setting it up, however, now that's another story... The included instructions mention to plug the device in, download the iHome Control app, and set up the plug by pressing "Add device" in the devices tab. Following these instructions (provided by the manufacturer), I simply could not get my plug to connect- it would give me an "Accessory pairing failed (18)" error each time. After digging around online, someone mentioned a step that was not noted anywhere in the documentation: Go into your WiFi settings on your device, and the iHome Smart Plug should appear as a new device on the bottom of the list. I should mention, this is using an iPhone/iOS device- not sure if it's the same process for Andriod. Once the plug is selected from the WiFi list, the setup process is seamless- you don't even have to open the iHome Control App... I'm typically not one for writing reviews, but I've spent over an hour trying to figure out how to get this thing up and running, whereas my WeMo setup (despite not being HomeKit-enabled), took about 5 minutes. Hopefully this will help anyone experiencing the same error message (and thank you to the person who originally posted this fix)! Docking one star for the incorrect/incomplete instructions and the tedious setup.
If you ever lose internet connectivity, these plugs all have to be reset manually. They're not smart enough to reconnect to the network. So if you have a lot of them like I do, it's a pain to deal with them. You might as well turn things on manually.

I am looking for different companies that make this type of product. It keeps failing. The outlet works for a short period of time then stops responding. Constantly having to reset, reprogram and reconnect.

I'm so angry at my switch. Work OK last winter, but now I can't reset or wake up to configure. My iHome app is going nuts. Wheel are spinning trying to log in to device even if I removed from my app.

I have 3 of these plugs and they will no longer connect to my HomeKit. They used to work and are now basically useless.

This is the hardest and useless plug to have. It will not work with high speed internet 2.4g or below. Also it does NOT STAT THIS ON THE BOX . BY THE WAY ONCE OPENED you CANT RETURN IT

This device NO LONGER works with google assistant or any other 3rd party app!! I’ve been using these for several years until now! They are basically useless and I will be switching to a competitor!! The company removed all third party integration and is forcing everyone to use the Apple HomeKit! I am extremely upset about how this was handled!!!!

Stopped supporting their plugs with an app with no warning. Searched online to discover they are stopping the cloud as of 4/2/22. So the plugs are now worthless. They are not wifi smart plugs, they are trash. Had for 2 years.

IHome audio terminated their support for integration with Alexa Skills. You can still connect the skill, but the cloud hub has been disabled
