Love the look of the espresso machine, and I fell in love with Illy's coffee in Italy. Just super disappointed that this machine only uses pods. When the environment is at the forefront for a lot of people, they should design a version that uses ground espresso beans. Each time I used the pods, there was a huge wave of guilt. There is also no current recycling system for Illy's pods. Unfortunately, I had to return.

|Thank you for your review. The coffee within the paper ESE pod is compostable and can be used in the garden. However, the paper is not entirely biodegradable given a small amount of adhesive used to seal the outer part of the pod.

The new machine was balky at first but is now working fine. It's important to run it first without any capsule so that the pump is primed and hot water begins flowing. I also adjusted the volume (as described in the manual) so it would fill my espresso cup.

Great coffee. We own lavazza, Nespresso machines as well, but best coffee is Illy’s. I wish I could use their pods on some other machines. Bad design, the water container is leaking if it is not properly connected to the machine and there no clear way to know that you have connected it properly or not.

I bought this machine in part because of how beautiful it is. Thankfully, it also works beautifully: the espresso is fantastic and the coffee is as good as I’ve ever had.
