I received this as a gift this Christmas and when I unpacked it , had a slight oder. Washed it thoroughly, oder gone. Cooked my first steak and it turned out just right, easy to do....But! as I'm pulling out the fry basket the handle broke off. Product heeds to be redesigned as I noticed that handle breaking is not uncommon. Size and shape fits perfect on counter. Will return and get same again. Do recommend getting a cook book to make the learning curve easier . "Air Fryer Perfection" by America's test Kitchen

I don't understand the reviews that complain about some sort of plastic smell.. I've had this air fryer for about six months. I've never had any strange smell, plastic or otherwise. It works as described. The 6 qt bin is a good size. Unlike other air fryers, this air fryer has a separate grill like plate that allows air to circulate around the bottom of the food. It also makes for easy clean-up. What this strange smell is about I don't know. I've never experienced it.

I saw the numerous complaints about the smell and decided those people were too sensitive and ordered it anyway. I love the interface of the unit and the large basket design. Received it a couple of days ago and did an initial burn-in after washing the basket and wiping the inside of the unit with a damp cloth. Noticed the strong smell of hot plastic but it faded noticeably after the initial test runs. Unfortunately the smell stopped fading and hasn't gone away. I tried seasoning the fryer by wiping the basket with coconut oil and doing another test run. That didn't help. Finally I decided to try cooking wings, also outside because of the continued smell. The wings ended up tasting like plastic. I brought the unit back inside after it cooled, and now my entire apartment smells like hot plastic. This is definitely not normal. I've never had another appliance like this, including air fryers. I'm going to give it a couple more days but if I can't get rid of the smell I'll have to return it. Too bad. Otherwise it's a great unit.

I have had this air fryer for about 2 months. I made french fries about 10 times. They are so addictive. I use one or two potatoes, peel, soak in water for 20 minutes, drain out excess moisture with a paper towel, add 1 tsp of olive oil, salt and pepper and turn on the fryer which I set to 400 degrees and time of 18 minutes. I don't know how this machine does it, they come out as crispy or more crispy than restaurant french fries. Cleanup is a snap because there's one little tray to wash and then you just wipe down the rest with a wet paper towel. The only negative is that sometimes when I pour the fries into a bowl when they are done, the little tray inside the bucket falls out too, and can burn your hand. There a little loop to pull it out but nothing to hold it down (Unless those two little square red silicone pieces I threw out as packing material were supposed to hold it down). It is really quiet, so using in an apartment is fine. I just haven't figured out what else to use it for. But the french fries are incredible.

I received it as a Christmas gift and have loved it until today when it fell off the counter and the handle broke right off. I loved this so much I bought one for my daughter too. Now it appears that you cannot purchase replacement parts. Very dissatisfied considering the cost of the air fryer to begin with. I’ve read many reviews with the same issue. Hopefully customer service can help so I do not have to purchase another brand.

We chose this air fryer for its sleek features but when we got home (after following the instructions to set it up) and cooked with it for the first time there was an awful chemical smell that made lingered for hours. The food that we cooked in the air fryer had the same awful chemical taste. Dont waste your money on this air fryer.

I literally hate this thing. It was a gift. Cleaned it 10 times, ran it empty 10 times, cooked in it a dozen times and the plastic smell is in the food and house for hours. I even set it in the open window to blow outside a few times. What is wrong w/ it? And yes I removed all the packaging.

Used 3 times before handle broke off. Can't buy a replacement. So my fryer looks like it came from the dump.
