I've had my Roomba (actually two: one upstairs and one down) for almost a year and wouldn't be without them. They run every day in the master bedroom, kitchen and family room where we and our dog spend most time and once or twice a week in other rooms. Our dog has medium black fur and is a medium shedder. We have two grandchildren in the area, one of whom is at that learning to crawl-face down on the carpet stage. Do I feel good about the floor being clean! I do keep the Roombas clean (and find a lot of stuff to clean out of rollers, filters and front wheel.) There are occasionally longer hairs (maybe mine?) that wrap around the rollers and may tighten and cut little grooves in the ridges. Lately I've noticed the Roombas not cleaning quite as well. Simply putting in new filters helped a lot. Given how well I keep them clean, I'm not as good about changing filters (though I do clean them every time I empty the dust bin Sometimes i think I should change filters once a week (that would be about $400 a year per Roomba.) ! I have been known to wash a filter (I know it's not recommended), but that doesn't work forever. Anyway, I went the full refurbishment route and am VERY GLAD I did. Cleaning like new again! I got some extra filters as well, so I can change them more often. Last year I gave my daughters-in-law Roombas for Mother's Day. None of them use theirs as intensely as I do, but this year they will get refurbishment kits! Sure do wish the filters were cheaper -- maybe in larger quantities than the 3-pack. I would really like to use 12 per year for each Roomba. Currently aiming at six per year. So far I haven't gone to non-iRobot suppliers, but maybe I should try that.
I use it quite frequently but I'm so disappointed that the bin clogs fast with pet hair and you have to keep cleaning the bin and sensors. I really find this to be a hassle. I'm trying to avoid a lot of exposure to all the dust and repeated emptying and cleaning make my allergies act up.

I like the convenience of having all the necessary replacement parts. Why did iRobot discontinue the 890 model? I dread when I have to replace my Rosie.

We have one 980 in bonus room on top floor, i8+ on main and i8+ for fully finished downstairs. Each is set on a schedule- more frequent than any I would have had if using a regular upright or canister. No back problems, no time impairment, and no having to coerce to get the job done! If you can't figure out how to set schedule- call a friend who can! You will be very happy you did! While we have to clean bin after each use on the 980, small effort compared to benefits. The i8+ machines even lessen that "chore". Just bought a lower priced roomba for our relative with spinal issues. She's quite delighted with her "Baxter"! Oh- and a great source of entertainment for our dog!

Not disappointed. Received all items. Monthly replacement of parts at great cost!
I use Thandi in all my rooms.She does a good job in the places she can reach. She knows she has to go over some places several times to get them clean.

I bought the Roomba 890 about 2yrs ago as a birthday present for myself. I have an Akita that sheds like there is no tomorrow so it's a hassle having to vacuum every other day to keep up with it. Since getting the Roomba I've gotten away with weekly manual vacuuming and the dog hair is kept to a minimum. My main con is the small bin for it as well as it randomly struggles getting over the hump between my kitchen floor and carpet but it eventually makes the leap. Another con for some people is it can easily get stuck, but for me I get a kick out of trying to find what hell the Roomba got itself into, so far it's gotten stuck under my recliner a few times and has somehow managed to close the bathroom door on itself as well. Again many may get annoyed by this but it cracks me up when I finally find it. As another person said I do wish the replacement parts were a bit cheaper but I get the reasoning behind it, iRobot is a profit company and it costs them money to make these items so naturally things get marked up. Besides $60 isn't terrible especially for 3 filters, 2 rollers and the brushes. In the time I've have my Roomba all those parts still work great so it's not like you're buying them on a weekly basis. Anyhow I would 100% recommend getting one if you don't already. You'll be glad you did.
