Wow I have had other Roomba 980 and constantly cleaning the dust bin. (I have 2 dogs that shed a lot!) This is the best yet! It has been 30 days and today it says I must change the bag. When the bag is full it won't clean unless you clean the dust bin manually. I would forget to clean the bin on the 980 so I would have many days without cleaning. NO MORE..... This is the greatest invention yet...Well worth the extra $$$.... I love mine
I love this Roomba so don’t get me wrong here. The auto dirt disposal is fabulous. However, I can’t see the WiFi being of any help. The mapping feature is useless as you still must use virtual walls. Perhaps I had unrealistic expectations on the mapping feature. I had envisioned sending Roomba to clean a specific room. Alas, that is not how it works at all. Shucks.

So done with this product. "Empty the bin. Empty the bin." I changed brushes and filters. Constantly cleaning the sensors. Reboot. "Empty the bin." Do it all again. Reboot. Bought a new bin, thinking that might fix it. Nope. "Empty the bin." I can't remember the last time this unit completed a cleaning program. I left a review and received an email from iRobot, but the ticket was closed before I could respond. I must have been too busy emptying the bin. I asked to reopen the ticket. No response. To add insult to injury, I bought my daughter and son-in-law an 17+ for their wedding, right after I bought mine. Now theirs is acting up. Absolutely shop around before you buy a Roomba.

Hi Bevo, we apologize for the inconvenience that was caused, and we would be happy to assist you with resolving the issue. We have just e-mailed you, so we can help out.
We purchased for our upstairs with has builder grade carpet. First unit developed an aweful squealing sound after 2 weeks and 4 runs. Support diagnosed as motor failing. Sent full brand new unit. 2 weeks and 4 runs later, replacement units makes same noise. Squeals so loud you can hear in entire home. Noise stops when on hardwood. One support agent said unit is not designed for carpet. Another said it is designed for carpet. Dont know who to believe. After second failure, they sent a "service unit", which is just the robot with no battery. Swapped battery into service unit. Guess what, 2 weeks and 4 runs, develops aweful squealing sound when on carpet. Support now says it is an "environment" issue and they refuse to support the device any longer even though it has a 1 year warranty. This is not right!!! Asked if they would provide and upgrade path to a newer model that works better on carpet. Was happy to pay any price difference. They flatly refused to offer any paths for getting a model that will perform on carpet. If you have hardwood, this is a good unit. But if you have any kind of carpet, please stay away from this model. I feel ripped off of $800 with support basically saying we did all we want to do and it is now your problem.

Really disappointed in the vacuum. Had it a year and a half. Did the maintenance when it said. Motor lasted 18 months before having to replace the cleaning head module. Even with weekly cleaning the charging ports rarely work. So we always have to reposition it in the charger to get it to work. Robot vacuum is nice but not worth the cost if you are constantly replacing parts.

Hi Bradyj, we're sorry to hear that your Robot is experiencing such a complex issue, and we'd love the opportunity to help out and resolve it. We have just e-mailed you, so we can provide you with a proper solution.
I have had this product for 3 months, I had new carpets installed in my living room new furniture as well. I have open plan, with carpet in the living room and tile floors in the dining and kitchen area. An old Australian shepherd who sheds big time and Rosie Robot seems to do an excellent job thus far. Holding thumbs going forward!!!

It is amazing how grossly incompetent the SW design is. Try and map a room. You spend half a day scanning thru your iPhone. Apparently the company does no believe in user manuals, you know, those things that tell you how to operate. Frustration is an understatement, arrogance seems to be the byword. I would strongly advise against buying any of these products due to the gross inconsideration towards the customer.

Hi DrT, we are really sorry to hear about the situation. This is definitely not the experience we want our iRobot family to have, and we'd love the opportunity to turn it around. Is it okay if you provide us with iRobot email in order to resolve the issue?
I have had the Roomba i7+ for about 2 years now. I desperately wanted to love this - to the point of disillusion. But, overall, I am disappointed and feel like I wasted $700. It will pick up dog hair and most debris off of our faux-wood laminate floors. If your house is primarily laminate, this will probably be an acceptable option. On tile (ours is pretty slick porcelain), it leaves quite a bit of debris behind, but sufficiently gets up the dog hair. On area rugs, it only picks up about a third of the dog hair and debris that my traditional vacuum gets. Also, it leaves behind numerous sporadic globs of dog hair that I have to go around picking up. We have a small house. I only use the Roomba for the master and main living areas (roughly 1000 sq ft). Still, it has to stop halfway through to re-charge. This means, the vacuum is running on and off for several hours. Most recent run took 1hr 39min run time with an 1hr 5 min charge time part way through. Forget watching TV or having a conversation with your family. I like that it gets to places like under the king size bed and other furniture much easier than a traditional vacuum. I also like that if I need the floor to simply be cleaner than it currently is, it gets some dirt up. Looking at the run history, I have only used the Roomba about once per month... that averages out to $30 per use...eek. My traditional Shark vacuum that claims to never lose suction... well, has yet to lose suction after 5 years! It is my primary tool for cleaning all of the floors in my house. Overall, this was a waste of money that perhaps would've been better spent on a high-quality cordless stick vacuum. Or maybe, a good replacement for the traditional high-powered corded vacuum just doesn't exist yet.

The robot works yes, it cleans, but i constantly need to be cleaning sensors, switching bags and im pretty sure where they make their money is where they give you notifications about how the bin is full when its not no where near full, so it makes you buy more bags. But whatever it cleans.

Purchased about a year ago to upgrade (I thought) from my 500 series Roomba. I loved my Roomba but got duped by the promise of app control, mapping cleaning areas, better multiple surface cleaning, automatic bin emptying, etc. Here's where tech overshadows the basic purpose. This model's only use is for bare floors. The improved flexible cleaning rollers, rate a poor 1 star on carpets and is a poor excuse for even a carpet sweeper. So far, there is no substitute for a bristle brush for pet hair. No upgrade (or downgrade) of cleaning rollers to brushes for pet hair by IRobot. I loved everything about Roomba including the ease of replacing parts, the battery, and consumables. Did they give up excellent carpet cleaning for flexible surface cleaning? The trade off: save 5 minutes of daily use maintenance (cleaning brushes & empty bin) or suffer with poor cleaning rollers to have "auto emptying". My 500 series (that was regulated to the master bedroom) is now back to full-time carpet duty.
