Excellent space saver and easy to open/empty. The stainless steel body is susceptible to slightly bending/becoming misshapen such that the ‘touch’ open feature will not working. We find that if that’s the case, there are two ways to rectify. 1. Make sure no plastic liner or contents are interfering with closing the trash receptacle; once that is cleared, if still not opening by ‘one touch’ handle; 2. It’s possible front-back orientation has gone just a tad out of alignment. These things move around as slide forward and back and when stuffing contents inside, so using ones hands or hip to very slightly reshape bin to bring front and back of trash receptacle back to original rectangular shape seems to repair alignment such that bin opens and closes as designed.
The lid stopped opening after pressing the button after a week of receiving. Now, when I press the button it only opens about an inch. I’ve since read multiple reviews of this product being sold on other sites and A LOT of people have experienced the same thing. Not worth the money.

Who thought a bin could change my life? Stylist, effortless and ergonomic, there's nothing not to like about this product. We had an electronic one previously, but the mechanism was prone to breaking - or the batteries drained very quickly - so this is an analogue winner in our eyes. Plus, the storage is impressive!

This is the second totem we have purchased. There have been several real improvements made the most important to us is that it has no longer got a polished steel top which attracted constant finger marks. The revised shape of the food waste container also maximises the usage area of the large bin. It might seem expensive but we regard it as the most desirable in relation to competitors.
