I tested this out when I got home from buying it, and I will tell you the price you pay is the value you get. Does it heat up fast? Yes. I didn't time it, but it was probably around 30 seconds. Does it run out of water fast? Yes, but it is also a tiny steamer, so if you want enough steam to do your whole closet at once, you're going to have to be willing to pay more for one with a bigger container. Does it spit water? Yes, but all steamers do. I work in retail and the professional-grade steamer we use spits water, too. You know what we do? We just let the clothes dry and put them back on the rack. If you don't want water on your clothes, then don't steam them, because steam is made up of water molecules. Your clothes are going to get wet, but they will dry. It's not the end of the world. As far as this thing goes, The top of it cools down quickly, so you won't burn yourself taking the top off unless you touch the part where the steam comes out. But that's kind of obvious. I bought this to take with me to college because I hate using irons.I noticed with this, you have to run it over spots a few times to get the wrinkles out, but again, it's a $20 steamer, it's not going to be professional. I steamed four shirts and only had to refill twice, but I'm also a small person, so it's less fabric. Would I recommend this to a college kid who hates irons? Yes. Would I recommend this to someone who travels a lot and doesn't freak out if water gets on their clothes? Yes. Would I recommend this to a retail store to steam their clothes? No. Would I recommend this to someone who wants a steamer to use on every article of clothing they own? No. But, for a broke college student, I can settle. This does the job.
