KitchenAid® 5-Piece Fresh Prep Slicer/Shredder Attachment Set in White

Do not feel this item has the quality I usually associate with KitchenAid. It was clumsy to use (I sliced cucumbers and shredded carrots.) Cucumbers were very thin which works for some applications but feel you should offer two slicing blades. The white portion of the slicer unit stained orange from the carrots. This is unacceptable. Will onion flavor stay in this unit if I slice onions? I am sending it back and will not order a replacement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I made this purchase for a Christmas present. It was not what my wife wanted. We returned it. It took KitchenAid more than 45 days to refund money after receipt of the return product. Never opened, never used. The refund only happened because I called, and called, and called, and called. Every time I called I was on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes before I got a live body. What a real hassle and disappointment.

I actually bought two of these shredders. The first one broke and I figured it was because my husband put it in the dishwasher so I bought a new one. The second one has only ever been hand washed and broke after two years.

I wasn't sure how much I would use them but I am using them constantly. The quality is as good as my KitchenAid Mixer and I can't wait to add some other attachments.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Simple to use. Shredded cheese in a snap. So much easier on my arthritic hands than manual shredder. Cleaned up quickly without putting in dishwasher. Haven’t tried slicer as yet but should be same. Highly recommend.

I’ve had 2 of these. It does a great job…until it breaks….and both of mine did. I had it replaced under warranty and the second one snapped off the same way! I did not put it in the dishwasher and used it properly. The connection between the two parts is not strong enough. I used it for cheese mostly and loved it when it was not broken.

I’ve never been very good at cutting without snagging a finger or 2 but also who can be bothered chopping up individual items for the same dish? I made a stirfry for my 1 year old using only the shredder and chopper attachment in less than a minute. (Not an exaggeration). Potato bake - all 4 potatos thinly and perfectly sliced up in less than a minute. We’ve also saved so much money now buying block cheese and grating / shredding it ourselves. No sore arms involved and no mess. And don’t even get me started on the clean up - EASY! And a little tip for literally everyone who has to hand wash dishes - the main part is super easy to clean with a cheap baby bottle brush. There is not a single downside to this product. It lives on my kitchen bench attached to the mixer. It’s used everyday.

If you do any volume of shredding on this, you're going to break it. The feeder tube broke after probably 6 total lbs of cheese shredding. Within the first month. And we're not talking anything crazy, just whole milk mozz, provolone and white cheddar. How is this not made of stainless steel? Charge more and make a better product.
