This beater gently scrapes product from the sides of the bowl and returns it to the bottom. Yes, you still need to use a spatula to ensure everything is mixed but this makes it much easier. Almost every poor review states the beater doesn't fit the mixer (buy the correct one) or it chips and bags the bottom of the bowl. People, you must adjust the beater height using the set screw. Obviously, the beater won't chip on butter and flour so IT IS hitting the metal bowl. C'mon. Great product
This beater DOES NOT fit the LIFT bowl 5 qt. stand mixer. It should be stated in the description that this is for a TILT-HEAD mixer. The shaft if too short. When I received it I figured they just sent the wrong one because right on the box it says in bold letters "TILT-HEAD". So after much research I found out they don't even make one for my 5 qt. lift mixer. I was so happy to get this but I'll be returning it since it doesn't fit my mixer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the flex edge a few weeks back. So far I have mostly used it for icing although I did make some cupcakes too. I like the beater, it reduces the need to scrape the sides down. Making the mix process more efficient.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] my mixer came with nylon coated beater that CHIPPED. Where the chipped pieces wound up is anybody's guess. Pretty scary. This is now a well known issue, as indicated from the many reports from others online. When I contacted Kitchenaid about a replacement they did not accept any culpability for the faulty equipment and offered no recompense other than to suggest I buy a new beater. Very poor. Overall quality not the same as product of old. Major disappointment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mixer is a game changer for me. I looked and reviewed it for years and finally made the leap in 2023. The Artisan fits well under cabinets on a countertop and on another storage shelf. I selected the Contour Silver, which matches well with my stainless steel appliances. I purchased two accessories that were not in my mixer bundle; the secure fit pour shield and a flex edge beater.
